Mission Statement

As part of the National Society, the Toronto Centre promotes the study and enjoyment of astronomy to members of the public of all ages.

About This Cause

Canada's oldest astronomy Society, the Toronto Centre has been operating since 1868. We meet regularly at the Ontario Science Centre and offer public programming at the David Dunlap Observatory in Richmond Hill. We also offer public outreach and education programs at a variety of sites in and around the Greater Toronto Area. Our Centre observatory near Collingwood, Ontario provides our members and guests with an opportunity to enjoy dark skies. We partner with academic institutions including York University, the University of Toronto and Western University.
