To empower and support children and youth with autism and their families, maximizing their quality of life by providing excellence in innovative teaching techniques that meet their academic, social and emotional needs.
About This Cause
Janus Academy operates as an accredited independent school that offers specialized education for grades 1 through 12 for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The unique attribute of Janus Academy is its intensive student to staff ratio programming delivered through individualized curriculum and research-based teaching techniques. We also operate a recreational summer camp program for children and youth with ASD, and an Adult Day Program for young adults with ASD, 19 and older with a focus on skills and vocational training, maintaining a social network and community involvement. It is now estimated that 1 in every 66 children between the ages of five to 17 will be diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum Disorder. Research shows that children with this diagnosis respond to behavioral based therapy, individualized instruction, and low student to teacher ratios. Janus Academy is the only school in Western Canada to offer this style of learning environment to all of our students.
