Mission Statement
Our mission is to build and nurture a community of friends to celebrate and champion the University of Alberta.
About This Cause
Since 1943, The Friends of the University of Alberta have engaged in activities that help build a strong relationship between the university and the broader community. The Friends supports scholarships, public lecture series, USchool, and similar programs. Happy 80th to us! As part of celebrating the 80th anniversary of The Friends of the University Alberta, we are fundraising to increase the scholarship amounts that are offered to students every year. Some of the scholarships endowed through the Friends are 50 years old. The amount selected in 1973 does not measure up in 2023. If you received a scholarship, you know how important it was for you to attend university.
