Mission Statement
The Halton Learning Foundation (HLF) raises funds to enrich educational opportunities and eliminate economic barriers to learning for students of the Halton District School Board.
About This Cause
One in 10 elementary and high school students in Halton lives in poverty, which presents significant barriers to their education. The Halton Learning Foundation (HLF) helps individual students of the Halton District School Board with the basic necessities and tools they need to come to school and remain engaged in learning. Through our Eliminating Barriers Fund, students-in-need may receive funds for clothing, gym shoes, school supplies, transportation to school, or fees that allow kids to participate in school field trips or athletic teams. We also offer dozens of scholarships to help graduating students continue their educational journey. HLF also raises funds to help schools across Halton enrich classroom programs. Many schools are unable to raise extra funds needed for resources such as gym and playground equipment, musical instruments and art supplies, books, technology, and environmental programs.
