We at Banbury Crossroads treasure children as respected individuals and meet their diverse needs within a safe, familial setting. We are passionately committed to incorporating innovative educational methods that foster intrinsic motivation, learning to mastery, self-responsibility and social competence.
About This Cause
Banbury Crossroads School Society helps support Banbury Crossroads School. Banbury Crossroads is an accredited, Self-Directed Learning school from Pre-K to Grade 12, including a Full Day Kindergarten program. Our ultimate goal is to foster student autonomy within an environment of mutual respect. Therefore, we use a tutorial approach and individualized academic instruction within small, multi-aged groups. This nurturing setting generates meaningful, trusting relationships that enhance learning. Here, students learn to communicate, negotiate, collaborate and solve problems. These skills are helpful as they enter the wider community through field trips, volunteerism, and internships. Banbury youth become intrinsically motivated and empowered to chart the course of their own education and, through their passionate engagement in learning, to contribute to the wider world.
