The Jamaican Canadian Association (JCA) delivers programs and services, provides a physical hub, and advocates to improve the well‐being and equity of Jamaican, Caribbean & African‐Canadian communities within the Greater Toronto Area.

About This Cause

The Jamaican Canadian Association (JCA), established in 1962, is the hub of community engagement for the Jamaican, Caribbean and African-Canadian communities in the Greater Toronto Area. JCA delivers cultural programming; hosts a weekly tutorial program for students in grades one to twelve; convenes the Caribbean Seniors Club to engage and support seniors; established the Caribbean International Student Group for students attending colleges and universities in the GTA; creates avenues for formal and informal mentoring; and, awards annual scholarships to African-Canadian students. In addition, JCA collaborates with other organizations and stakeholders on a range of community meetings, workshops and town hall forums as well as hosts forums on a range of issues including women's mental health, career exploration and advocacy. The JCA Centre serves as a hub for various organizations to gather, host events, forums and other activities that benefit the community.
