Mission Statement
The Varley-McKay Art Foundation supports the Varley Art Gallery through its fundraising activities and investments. The Foundation supports art acquisitions for the Varley Art Gallery's collection, conservation of their art collection, educational programs, exhibition research and an energetic volunteer program. The primary sources of funds are the McKay endowment proceeds for education and art acquisitions and our fundraising events. Proceeds are applied to our volunteer program, exhibition research and educational program development. By supporting the Foundation you can build on our successes of great exhibitions, art of the highest quality and innovative public programs.
About This Cause
The Varley-McKay Art Foundation of Markham supports the Varley Art Gallery as a vital cultural hub in the GTA. Our mandate is to support the Varley Art Gallery's strong visual arts program through our activities and investments. We provide funding to assist with art acquisitions, the conservation of the Gallery's art collection, educational programming and exhibition research. We also administer the volunteer program on behalf of the Varley Art Gallery, which provides additional support for their programs and events.
