Mission Statement

The Venezuelan Canadian Association of Calgary (VCAC) is, a volunteer-based organization, devoted to serving the community. To fulfill its purposes/objective, the VCAC undertakes advancement of education activities, humanitarian activities by providing basic necessities of life for people in need, and also provide advancing the Public‘s appreciation of the arts by organizing cultural events to enrich the lives of all the members of the Calgarian community. Our mission is to help people and communities in Canada and other Latin countries in times of crisis to ensure a better living environment for people in need or low-income families.

About This Cause

The Venezuelan Canadian Association of Calgary Purposes are: - To advance education by providing English and Spanish language classes to the public. - To advance education by providing publicly available scholarships to students enrolled in Canadian post-secondary educational institutions. - To advance the public's education, and appreciation of the Venezuelan history, art, and culture by providing educational classes and high-quality artistic performances about Venezuelan culture through instructional dance classes, documentaries, historical film, and food and arts festivals. - To relieve loneliness and isolation of the aged by establishing a senior citizens' social group for recreational programs. - To advance education of newcomers to Canada by providing mentorship programs and workshops on employment-related skills, resume writing, job interview preparation, and information on working in Canada. - To receive and maintain a fund or funds and to apply all or part of the principal and income therefrom, from time to time, to qualified donees as defined in subsection 149.1(1) of the Income Tax Act (Canada).
