About This Cause
Crossroads Hospice Society provides quality end-of-life care in Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, Belcarra and New Westminster. Crossroads manages a stand-alone, home-like hospice with ten private bedrooms in Port Moody, which provides compassionate, hospice palliative care for terminally-ill patients, as well as grief and bereavement support for those who have lost a loved one. Crossroads staff and over 80 volunteers care for patients in the hospice, in their homes and Eagle Ridge Hospital. Our Mission is to provide compassionate care and support to people with life-limiting illness and their families, and offers support to individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one. In an atmosphere of love and concern it can be a rich and rewarding experience whether at home, in the hospital, or in hospice. Crossroads volunteers and staff provide life-affirming care for patients and their families, helping them with emotional, physical, and spiritual concerns that often arise as end-of-life approaches. Programs offered by Crossroads include: Visiting Volunteers, Relaxation Therapy, ArtCare, Music, Pet Therapy, Bereavement Information packages, One on One Volunteer Support, Grief's Journey (A walking group), Monthly Support Evenings, Compassionate Grief Support Program (Adult & Teenager groups), Honour A Life (New Westminster) and Hope for the Holidays (Tri-Cities)- annual events to remember loved ones in a supportive, understanding and caring environment. Crossroads Hospice Society also manages a Labyrinth Healing Garden which serves as a meditative and reflective tool for our hospice patients, families, staff and volunteers, as well as for residents of our community. We also operate a Thrift Store which helps to fund many of our programs and services.
