About This Cause
Youth Central, established in 1992, sees a society where all youth participate in shaping a vibrant community. Each year we engage more than 2,200 youth, ages 12-18 through leadership and volunteer programs that build confidence, empathy and social connections while developing communications, teamwork and leadership skills. What sets us apart is our youth-centric approach. Youth take the reins, with staff providing support. We want youth to feel they are contributing to improving the community, they are making a difference, and their voice is heard and valued. By removing barriers, we support youth who want to give back and gain leadership experiences. This builds a brighter future for all of us. Through our eight programs, youth can volunteer with various community agencies, join a foundation and learn about philanthropy, serve on a leadership committee, plan events, blog about community issues, and voice their opinions to community leaders.
