About This Cause

Root for Trees is an enhanced tree planting initiative which intends to increase tree planting within the City of Edmonton through continued partnerships with corporations, individual residents and community groups. The Reuse Centre accepts various items from Edmonton residents free of charge and makes them available to organizations and individuals for reuse. The Reuse Centre is unique as it deals with items that are not accepted for reuse elsewhere. The Centre has three main goals: -To promote the idea and benefits of reuse -To provide affordable items to organizations and individuals -To divert waste from landfill Capital City Clean Up: Each year, citizens, community groups and businesses work with the litter-reduction and prevention programs at Capital City Clean Up to make Edmonton sparkle. Edmonton residents love their clean, litter-free parks, streets and neighbourhoods. River Valley Programs offers outdoor educational programming at a reduced cost to schools in the Rundle, Goldbar and surrounding area (east Edmonton area). There are several schools typically unable to afford our programming, so this may provide an opportunity for those students to explore the river valley during a River Valley Program. The funding would assist the schools in paying for 50% of their program and the school would pay the other half of the program.
