Mission Statement
To provide a platform for Canadians to contribute to the support of the Canadian Armed Forces community that allows the delivery of programs to meet the important and often life-changing circumstances that are not covered by core funding.
About This Cause
Support Our Troops is an official qualified donee of His Majesty in right of Canada for the Canadian Armed Forces community, managed and operated by the Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS). It was established to meet the unique needs and special challenges faced by members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) community as a result of military service. It provides a platform to allow a range of supporters to show their care, compassion and support to serving members, veterans and their families. Recognized by its trademarked Yellow Ribbon, Support Our Troops exists to benefit the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces and their families. Major elements within Support Our Troops include its philanthropic fundraising program, corporate community engagement and partnerships, and the financial assistance program. Three characteristics define the Canadian Armed Forces lifestyle for both serving members and their families. Military families manage the challenges of relocation, absences and risk, and are the true heroes at home. These families work hard to maintain a balanced lifestyle and well-being within the home, and ease the impact of deployment. Support Our Troops receives donations from individual and corporations, Foundations, third party community fundraising events, proceeds of sales, and CAF signature events such as the Canadian Army Run and Navy Bike Ride.
