Mission Statement
It is our mission to rescue and find loving homes for homeless dogs in Canada and from around the world. We believe love knows no boundaries and that it is our responsibility to rescue any and every dog we are asked to help, no matter what country that dog lives in.
About This Cause
LALDR is an all volunteer non-profit organization which connects with rescues around the world to find homes for stray and shelter dogs. When we are asked to find a home for a dog, they posted on our website for adoption. When an adopter is approved for a dog, the overseas rescue finds a passenger to escort the dog to Canada. Our dogs typically are placed directly into their adopters home which enables us to rescue far more dogs than if they went directly into a foster home. Because we receive accurate descriptions of the dogs, it is rare for a dog to be returned for not being a fit for the home. We are able to operate due to the enormous compassion of our adopters who are willing to take a dog into their home prior to meeting them. And they are almost always rewarded with a dog they adore and who adores them. Most of our dogs have lived in the streets or in overseas shelters and have suffered deprivation and cruelty before they are rescued. When they get a home for the first time in their lives, the joy and appreciation they exhibit is incredibly heart-warming. Our adopters typically tell us that adopting a rescue dog was one of the most rewarding and important things they have ever done.
