Mission Statement
Letting Everyone Talk Safely.
About This Cause
Established in December 2009, CCCline 1333, a subsidiary of the CCC Foundation, is dedicated to the mental well-being of all Sri Lankans. Serving as a beacon of hope for individuals grappling with emotional distress, CCCline 1333 offers accessible and confidential crisis support through its free telephone service, reachable by dialing 1333. Since its inception, CCCline 1333 has steadily progressed towards its mission of becoming a credible and widely utilized crisis support service across Sri Lanka. The core activities of CCCline 1333 include providing emotional support, guidance, and empowerment to individuals facing various challenges, such as personal struggles, relationship issues, family conflicts, academic stress, workplace difficulties, mental illness, and suicidal thoughts. Our team of trained telephone crisis supporters offers empathetic listening and support, acting as a lifeline for countless individuals during their darkest hours. Operated on a volunteer basis, CCCline 1333 embodies compassion and community spirit, with all donations directly funding the management of our center. As an affiliate of the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP), CCCline 1333 adheres to the highest standards in crisis support services. Our Crisis Supporters undergo rigorous training from Lifeline Australia, the largest telephone crisis support service in the country, ensuring that each caller is treated with respect and dignity. This commitment reflects our core values of courage, compassion, and dedication. Beyond crisis support, CCCline 1333 actively engages in awareness and advocacy initiatives aimed at destigmatizing mental health issues in Sri Lanka. Through programs like Let'sTALK, we promote open conversations about mental well-being, encourage self-care practices, and equip individuals with the tools necessary for thriving in personal and professional environments. By partnering with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders, we extend our reach to diverse demographics, ensuring that mental health support is accessible to all. In addition to our primary crisis support services, CCCline 1333 collaborates with strategic partners to address systemic barriers in mental health care. Our projects, such as the annual 1333 Bikeathon 'Out of the Shadows' and community-based workshops, aim to raise awareness, advocate for policy change, and mobilize resources to support suicide prevention efforts. With cricketing legend Kumar Sangakkara as our ambassador, we strive to create greater awareness of our services island-wide and work to dismantle the social barriers and stigma surrounding mental health in Sri Lanka.
