About This Cause
MJF Charitable Foundation – “business is a matter of human service” The MJF Charitable Foundation (MJFCF) is an approved charity that was incorporated by an act of parliament in 2003. The objective was to formalize and structure the humanitarian activities that it’s Settlor, Merrill J. Fernando had undertaken since 1962 although in an informal manner. Driven by a philosophy of making business a matter of human service, the objective of the MJF Foundation is to ensure that benefits from the success of Dilmah and its unique business model are shared with the plantation industry, its workers and their families as well as with the wider community and the environment.
