Mission Statement
Founded in 2004, Animals Taiwan is a nationally registered non-profit organization made up of concerned individuals, both locals and expatriates, dedicated to improving the welfare of animals in Taiwan. Currently, our focus is on the plight of stray dogs and cats. We rescue sick and injured stray animals, rehabilitate, vaccinate, neuter, and re-home them. Our rescue center houses about 70 healthy dogs and cats, all of whom are currently awaiting adoption. Animals Taiwan believes in giving every animal a chance of a fulfilling life, free of abuse and suffering. Animals Taiwan also focuses on humane methods that fix the root cause of the stray problem. We promote and perform TNR/CNR, educate the public about adoption and responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering, and truth behind pet stores and breeders.
About This Cause
As a non-profit organization, Animals Taiwan relies heavily on volunteer support to achieve its goals. There are many different ways in which you can support us and help stray animals: ADOPTION: All of our friendly animals need new homes with caring parents and siblings. To find out more about adopting one of our animals, please visit our website or email us to arrange a visit to our Rescue Center. SPONSORSHIP: For those who cannot adopt an animal but would still like to help, you may sponsor an animal for just NT$500 or US$15 per month. By sponsoring an animal you will receive periodic e-mail updates and photos informing you of your sponsored animal’s progress. VOLUNTEER: Animals Taiwan is always looking for volunteers to walk and wash dogs, play with cats and clean the Rescue Center. We also need people to help out at our fundraising and adoption events, help us transport animals to the vet and events, as well as with publicity, writing, designing or organizing a fundraising activity. We can’t do it alone, so we need you. DONATION: Animals Taiwan is 100% funded by private as well as corporate sponsors. Donations are most needed as we are continuously growing and in need of additional funds to maintain our Rescue Center and continue in the areas of rescues, adoptions and TNR/CNR. Every dollar donated will help us to grow further and to realize our mission.
