Mission Statement

In 1970’s, intellectually disabled in eastern Taiwan were hopeless. FOMCIT sent the Canadian missionary, Rev. Dirk Ottos, to Hualien and set up the New Dawn for caring children with intellectual disability in 1977. As 40 years go passing by, New Dawn Educare Center (NDEC) in Hualien Taiwan is crafted to accommodate the multifaceted needs of individuals and families affected by intellectual disability. We believe that all people are wonderfully created. We all are different, and we all have limitations. In serving the intellectually challenged, we enjoy the pleasure of most fully reflecting the image of our Creator. By providing needed resources within a Christ-centered community NDEC will help the intellectually challenged and their families to find belonging, purpose and hope.
