Draconian provisions of《Assembly and Parade Act》,《National Security Act》, 《Civil Association Act》have also been constantly challenged by TAHR. In 2009, TAHR’s endeavors in advocating the incorporation of international human right treaties were partially rewarded by the enactment of《Act to Implement the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights》. Our list of focus has extended to safeguarding rights to asylum, housing, privacy and data autonomy, as well as succouring individuals against police brutality, land expropriation, forced hospitalization, forced labour and trafficking in fisheries throughout the past three decades. Recently, we have managed to amend《Prison Act》,《Habeas Corpus Act》and《Mental Health Act》. TAHR urges the government to hasten its pace in incorporating 《Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women》, 《Convention on the Rights of the Child, Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman, or Degrading Treatment or Punishment》, among other international instruments, and to realize the ones already nationalized. For raising public awareness, TAHR publishes know-your-rights booklets, teaching materials, newsletters and annual reports; up-to-date press releases statement are uploaded to its website regularly. TAHR also hosts workshops, lectures, student camps and institutional visits to cultivate activists and legal practitioners.
