Based on the Taoist doctrine of humanity, which emphasizes the importance of empathizing with others, the Chinese Taoist Humanities Association (CTHA) upholds the philosophy of paying forward the kindness and love we receive from society. We strive to care for the disadvantaged and share our resources selflessly. Our ultimate goal is to promote a virtuous cycle of love and kindness, envisioning a world where everyone and everything coexists in harmony. 2. Upholding Taoist philosophy, CTHA has devised a key to happiness for people of today. We plan to construct a Zen meditation center to promote Taoist philosophy. Through lectures and seminars, CTHA fosters spiritual cultivation, assists personal understanding of mind and discovery of true self, and guides people to realize the truth of being and to live a life of ease and happiness.

About This Cause

Description of the Association: In 1998, the founder of the association, Master Zhi-Yen, established Uichin Taoist Monastery with the belief that spiritual cultivation is not solely for personal happiness and well-being. Instead, it should also involve sharing correct beliefs, experiencing true happiness, and giving back to society. In 2011, Master Zhi-Yen further founded Chinese Taoist Humanities Association (CTHA) , hoping to bring together the immense energies in society, contribute our own efforts to those in need and realize Taoist philosophy of humanity and care, one step at a time. Despite limited resources, CTHA boasts many volunteers willing to contribute and share with utmost sincerity. Master Zhi-Yen insists that every single dollar be spent on those attended to . The donation and appropriation is rigorously reviewed and monitored through multiple stringent mechanisms. Meanwhile, to maximize the effectiveness of the donation, during association activities, volunteers are responsible for covering their own expenses for transportation and meals. Scope of Services: 1. Social Care: CTHA actively cooperates with multiple government agencies to care for the disadvantaged. We deeply believe that empowering the children and adolescents from disadvantaged families opens up their opportunity in the future. On the other hand, taking care of underprivileged and vulnerable elderly individuals is a clear demonstration of the compassion and kindness that exists within society. Attending to both the young and the old helps activate the virtuous cycle of kindness and love. 2. Individual Case Assistance: The volunteer division of CTHA takes the initiative to identify urgent cases of individuals in need from all corners of society. Our main focus is on supporting disadvantaged groups and rescuing stray animals, among others. With the help of the community, we strive to spread love and support beyond these areas. 3. Spiritual Education: With the goal of spreading kindness and promoting a more mindful way of living, CTHA is embarking on a proactive campaign to build a larger-scale grand monastery. In addition, we are planning to offer lectures and seminars on topics such as Kuansin Zen and the cultivation of a pure mind. Our aim is to make the teachings of Taoism more accessible to all and to help individuals live a life filled with joy and ease.
