Mission Statement
Our mission: To protect wild lands, allowing nature to manage and revive itself, by obtaining guardianship and managing wilderness areas through purchases, long-term leases, and funding from commissions and donations. To purposefully set aside wild lands and preserve nature in its original state for present and future generations to explore and be enlightened by the wonders of life.
About This Cause
The Society of Wilderness was established on June 25, 1995, with the purpose of promoting education, habitat Protect Taiwan's natural ecological environment through land conservation and other methods. The association is located in Taipei, with a total of 11 branches across Taiwan. 1 branch preparatory office, 4 liaison offices and 5 overseas wilderness partners, with a total of more than 20,000 members. Continue to use citizen power to promote habitat work. Our current conservation projects Habitat protection - operates 5 environmental education centers, manages 6 natural habitats, leases 3 agricultural lands for natural farming projects, and conducts 20 ecological research projects. Ocean Conservancy – organizes over 30 beach clean-ups each year, runs a website to encourage people to do beach clean-ups while traveling, and collects information. Environmental education - held 100 volunteer training classes, 1,360 public lectures, and 443 nature observation activities.
