Mission Statement
In 1989, the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation was funded by American medical missionary, Dr. M. Samuel Noordhoff in Taiwan. In order to help the patients with cleft lip and palate and craniofacial deformity to receive holistic care, the Foundation provides a wide range of social, financial and psychological services to address their diverse needs, such as psych-social adjustment, interpersonal skills development and financial support. NCF also sponsors research to advance the quality of medical care, and to improve public awareness and social acceptance for our patients. NCF firmly believes that only team approach can provide holistic/best care to cleft patients and that only love can make whole. “Changing a child's appearance goes far beyond patching up a hole to impact his entire life. It promotes confidence, gratitude to society, and helps him better understand love and how to share love with others when he grows up. ” Dr. Samuel Noordhoff, founder of the NCF
