SOA Paris is a French nonprofit organization bringing together a global community of artists, skaters, & creative minds. Our mission is to: 1. Promote mental & physical well-being through skateboarding as well as therapeutic activities ; 2. Create an inclusive, creative space for self-expression & skill-building ; 3. Create a bigger community network sharing similar values.
About This Cause
SOA Paris is a French nonprofit organization officially created in 2023. We bring together an international community of artists, skaters, & creative enthusiasts. Our team is mostly composed of women, non-binary people & allies. We work every day to support creative skaters, promote underrepresented voices in skateboarding culture, & improve the mental & physical well-being of our community members. We strongly stand for neurodiversity, inclusion, & positive social impact through art & skateboarding. Advocating & creating welcoming spaces for self-expression, discovery, & skill development is at the center of SOA Paris’ values. Our founder, Jessy Marine (they/them), comes from a modest background & lives with Personality Disorders. After facing many closed doors due to their color & gender, Jessy created SOA Paris to offer better chances, tools, & support. They wanted to create opportunities for other individuals in similar situations, especially those who feel unseen in mainstream spaces. In 2024, SOA Paris collaborated on 15 events & projects across 6 countries & 6 cities. We organized exhibitions, skate sessions & contests, creative workshops, a mini-festival, & programs for kids, teens, & adults. And this is just the beginning. We’re also working with therapists, dieticians, & coaches to raise awareness around mental & physical health. The goal is to offer practical tools that support individual growth. Alongside new formats like our Women+-led skateboarding podcast, in each episode skaters share their stories, life lessons, & experiences openly. One of our main goals is to create our first skateboarding festival. A project within reach, & we need more support to bring it to life. SOA Paris may be new, but we’re grounded, motivated, & guided by our community. Everyone is welcome to join (he/she/they). Let’s grow together. www.soaparis.org
