Zebunet is a french NGO created in 2001 and specialized in microcredit for breeding and rural income generating activities. We support vulnerable rural communities in several countries (mainly Africa and Asia) helping them to develop breeding activities, expand their agricultural activities or start small businesses.
About This Cause
Zebunet is a french NGO created in 2001 and specialized in microcredit for breeding and rural economic activities. We support vulnerable rural communities in several countries (mainly Africa and Asia) helping them to develop livestock activities, expand their agricultural activities or start small businesses. For the breeding, the animals provides many advantages : easy to feed with crop residues, their dejecta give free fertilizer, and thanks to sales of the young, they create a "saving on paws". When the family needs money, they can sell some animals to pay for hospital, school or other life spendings. With a the creation of a small business, the families diversify their sources of income and are then better equiped to face any difficulties. Our financial model is simple : a person or a company want to support rural development, he visits our website, choose the project that suits him, he join our association and he can finance directly the amount needed by one farmer to developp his activity. Then Zebunet uses this amount to effectively finance the farmer. We control the well runing of his activities during around two years when the farmer refunds his microloan while generating profits. Zebunet then uses the loans refunds to finance new loans or new projets. Depending on the demands of farmers, we can implement biogaz digester (mainly with pigs livestock, to recycle dejecta and to produce gaz for cooking), or we support agro-forestry or agro-ecology projects.
