Mission Statement
The purpose of the KiTZ Foundation in Memory of Kirstin Diehl is to promote science and cancer research as well as public health in the field of pediatric oncology. The purpose of the statutes is realized in particular by raising and passing on funds within the meaning of § 58 No. 1 AO for the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and the University Hospital (UKHD) to be used for the promotion of pediatric cancer research including clinical research, infrastructure and innovative patient care at the Hopp Children's Tumor Center Heidelberg (KiTZ).
About This Cause
The "KiTZ Foundation in Memory of Kirstin Diehl" was established as the "Kirstin Diehl Foundation" in October 2006 by Gerd and Gerda Diehl, Kirstin Diehl's parents. It was transferred to the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) as a trust foundation in 2021. The purpose of the "KiTZ Foundation in Memory of Kirstin Diehl" is to promote science and cancer research, as well as public health in the field of pediatric oncology. It supports projects in the field of innovative patient care and research at the KiTZ, as well as infrastructure projects and investments.
