Mission Statement
ASELSI’s vision is to have Bible-equipped, indigenous pastors leading healthy churches that embody in word and deed the good news of Jesus Christ to their culture, compassionately serving the practical, physical and spiritual needs of “the least of these” in their community and beyond. ASELSI pursues a two-fold mission tailored to the unique needs of Mayan and other hispanic cultures in the Americas: Bible and ministry leadership training: ASELSI's EBA program (Estudios Biblicos) provides inter-denominational Bible education and ministry leadership training tailored to the unique needs of indigenous, rural pastors and church leaders. Compassionate outreach: ASELSI's Father's Heart Clinic programs, staff social outreach projects and volunteer teams partner with local churches in ways that empower indigenous believers and indigenous congregations to actively care for the physical, material and spiritual needs of “the least of these.”
