Mission Statement

Our mission is to save quality surplus food from going to landfills while delivering food security in Hong . We also work to raise awareness about food waste, food poverty and food banking in the city. We are Hong Kong's sole accredited member of the Global Food Banking Network, an international organisation dedicated to creating and strengthening food banks and national food bank networks.

About This Cause

Feeding Hong Kong is the first Hong Kong food bank dedicated to rescuing surplus nutritious food from retailers, distributors and manufacturers and redistributing it to people in need. Our task is to fight hunger in Hong Kong and at the same time reduce the amount of quality food that is being sent to our city’s landfills. Every day, we collect surplus food from producers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers and caterers and deliver it to a network of partner charities, who in turn, provide food to vulnerable communities in Hong Kong. By supporting existing grassroots feeding programmes, we make efficient use of established distribution channels and can focus our own resources on the highest standards in food collection, storage and transportation. At the same time, we work tirelessly to raise awareness about poverty and food insecurity in Hong Kong and promote healthy eating and nutritional education to the most vulnerable groups in our community. We are delighted to offer weekly volunteering activities for corporate groups, including" - Bread Runs: frontline food rescue for up to 100 volunteers - Warehouse Workouts: inbound food sorting for groups of 15-20 volunteers - Food Packing Sessions: outbound food preparation for groups of 15-20 volunteers - Mobile Food Pantry: community distribution for groups of 8-10 volunteers
