Mission Statement

The Foundation was established with the aim of promoting the economic and social development of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, free from the influence of the government and political parties, and especially the development of the county's human resources. The economic and social development of our county and region is inconceivable without physically, mentally and morally stable citizens. The holistic development of human resources can effectively help us grow in our immediate and wider environment. The purposes of the Foundation are: improving the level of knowledge and skills of human resources; helping families as primary social groups; and promoting health-conscious behaviour and lifestyle. It is important for us to offer attractive, value-creating leisure activities for children and young people, and to involve them in their organization and implementation. Our foundation has extensive experience in organizing programs aimed at developing the personality of disadvantaged young people, spending their free time usefully, and developing their communities.

About This Cause

The HUMAN-NET Foundation started its operation in 1996 with the aim of promoting the social and economic development of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, especially through the implementation of services and programs that create ways to keep graduates starting their careers in the county and prevent their economic migration. We operate a Community House in one of the largest housing estates of Nyíregyháza, in Örökösföld. The community centre provides an opportunity for various activities, trainings, gymnastics classes, dance classes, and accommodates self-active groups and self-organizing communities. We organize numerous youth programs, family programs and summer day camps. It is important for us to offer attractive, value-creating leisure activities for children and young people, and to involve them in their organization and implementation. One such initiative is Craftábor, which is a day camp for children aged 5-14. In addition to developing children's social competence, the aim of the camp is to discover the community experience with the help of a "common language": the Minecraft game. In connection with Craftábor, a community of children was formed. Afternoon sessions, community events and development courses were launched. Based on the experiences of the camps, the feedback of parents and the experiences of volunteer professionals (teachers, special education teachers, social professionals) related to the work of our foundation, we see that there is an increasing number of children who have some kind of learning, behavioral or other difficulties. In our camps and events, we pay great attention to creating and supporting accepting, inclusive communities. With these values in mind, children who are "problematic" elsewhere can also find their place in the sessions, often only based on feedback from parents it turns out that otherwise the child cannot find their place in other communities, and they do not receive support as parents on how to deal with their child's difficulties. In response to these experiences and needs, we launched our initiative called Blue Chameleon Workshop (Kék Kaméleon Műhely), which would like to respond to the above needs with real solutions, provide an inclusive and accepting space, create values, and create and support communities that help each other. The aim of the workshop is to provide support and assistance in various life situations. The professionals of the Workshop are connected by a common approach, value system and the intention to help the child, young person or adult who turns to them to the best of their ability. They all have practical experience and are committed to their profession. We have been operating a Homestead Service (Tanyagondnoki Szoglálat) since 2005. The task of our homestead caretakers is to help the needy living in the surrounding homestead communities and to reduce the disadvantages arising from being from and living in the homestead world. Their primary task is to deliver social catering to their home, and in addition they help them to get to their health service, buy medicines, and work around the house. In 2022, the Service signed cooperation agreements with a total of 142 clients in 3 districts. All services of the Homestead Service are free of charge for clients. Our organization has been dealing with donations since its foundation. We have been cooperating for many years in the Hungarian Food Bank Association's (Magyar Élelmiszerbank Egyesület) supermarket food rescue mission. The organization searches for and collects surplus food, which is distributed to those in need. Their goal is to use food waiting to be destroyed to feed those in need. On a weekly basis, our colleagues and volunteers, as well as the staff of the organizations in contact with us, distribute food donations to the socially deprived people living in Nyíregyháza. Our Homestead Service brings the food products expiring on the same day from a large store every Friday, and from spring 2022, two more grocery stores handa over products suitable for their service on weekdays, but before the expiry of the shelf life: bakery products, fruits, dairy products. According to their information, in 2022, the Food Bank handed over almost 31345 kg of food to us, which we distributed to people in need. We also accept occasional, one-time donations, which include food, clothes, various technical items (laptop, TV, sewing machine, etc.). Our foundation is in regular contact with about 3500 people in need, due to our donation activities.
