Health & Nutrition KWS recognizes the pressing need for women's health and nutrition in India. Women in the country face numerous health challenges that can have long-term implications for their well-being. Malnutrition, HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, depression, anxiety, maternal health issues, and menstrual hygiene issues are just some of the problems they face. Poor nutrition can have a significant impact on brain development, leading to problems with memory, learning, social skills, language skills, and IQ scores. Additionally, the lack of facilities for food preparation, storage, and cooking makes it challenging for underprivileged families to maintain a healthy and balanced diet, which can result in poor health. Poor menstrual hygiene can also pose serious health risks, such as reproductive and urinary tract infections, which can lead to future infertility and, in some cases, cervical cancer. To combat these issues, KWS provides personal health and hygiene awareness sessions in government girls' schools and colleges. They have also installed sanitary napkin vending machines and insulators in 25 government schools. KWS impacts more than 8,000 lives yearly, working within 152 villages to meet the most critical and unmet healthcare needs. Through these efforts, KWS is taking significant steps towards improving the health and well-being of women in the region. Poverty Alleviation KWS is committed to addressing poverty and social exclusion through its comprehensive programs focused on skill training and education. It is disheartening that a large portion of India's population still lives below the poverty line, struggling to meet their basic needs. To address this issue, KWS is providing short-term courses and entrepreneurship programs that aim to empower the underprivileged to lead self-sustainable and fruitful lives. Additionally, the NGO is promoting the traditional art of Brij, known as the "royal Sanjhi Art," to provide better wages for artisans. KWS is also providing cow dung product manufacturing and entrepreneurship training to local Gou Shalas, enabling them to become self-sustainable. Furthermore, KWS is organizing flower management and training sessions for temple waste to make products like doop batti, agarbatti, samrani cup, itra, and paper, which generates handsome revenues for Brijwasies.
