Due to the lockdown, the people couldn’t find any job for their daily wage and they don’t get their daily bread. The family members and children were highly affected due to the crisis and we reached their spot and helped them by providing food materials to cook for a month. We were able to help them for about 3 months to every family until the lockdown withdrawal. We have been able to reach 500 families so far. The cost of each food pack comes to Rs2000 2) Covid emergency kit We supported covid-19 emergency kit which contains Sanitizer, Masks, and soaps for 600 families. Each kit costs about Rs 300. We provide awareness education on COVID-19 protection measures and living conditions for people living in poverty. They are living in remote areas and have no proper houses to live in. They have small children and elderly people living in their homes. 3) Social coaching school for poor family children in a tribal village There are 80 poor families of children who need support for their school education. Their parents are illiterate and suffering for their daily food. The children of such families have no facility to sit and study in their homes. They don’t have electricity and no one guides them in their study lessons. Hence, there was a large level of school dropout children in our target area. We made our entry and concentrated on such children. Hence, there is a greater chance among such family children and most of the children are going to regular schools. We provide books, stationery, uniform clothes, etc to encourage them. We also provide food after the study every evening. We engaged 5 teachers and 3 volunteers to perform the project. We are utilizing a training centre for this purpose and a staff team for teaching. We have been providing education and food for about 60 children every year. The cost for each child for a year (12 months) is Rs 3600 4) Providing study scholarships to children to continue higher studies AWARD TRUST Every year we provide study scholarships to poor family children who are unable to pay for their higher studies. Every year 150 children will benefit through this scheme. There is a large demand for the scheme but because of low funds, we are unable to help everyone. Rural girls who have lost their parents are getting preference in this scheme. Each girl gets a scholarship of Rs 15000 every year and the duration of the scholarship is 3 years 5) AWARD TRUST and Skill Training for women We provide skill training in sewing to unemployed women and girls. Rural-based girls living without employment are the beneficiaries of this scheme. Women can earn money at home if they are trained in making garments. We teach them for 3-6 months and provide certificates for them. Thus, every 6 months we train 20 women (girls) for the said sewing project. The cost for each trainee is about Rs 3000 for 6 months. 6) Our Livelihood for Disadvantaged Women project 200 women are living in poverty and are being helped through this project. We provide small loan assistance to them to promote their livelihood activities. They were under slavery because of loans they got from money lenders. We educated them to come out of such slavery and made them not get loans from such vendors. We have been supporting them through small loans to promote and sustain their livelihood activities. Hence there we found 200 direct beneficiaries and 1000 indirect beneficiaries attaining benefits through this scheme. This project paves the way for their peaceful life and now they are happy in their routine life. Each woman is getting Rs 5000- 8000 as a small loan for their small business 7) Providing cows for families We provide cows and calves to families who are economically backward, thereby enabling them to become self-employed by dairy farming. They also have to send their children to our school and tuition centres without fail. Ultimately the family gets economic improvement and the children are getting an education systematically. Every year we add one village to this scheme and currently, there are 10 remote villages with around 125 families including 129 children benefit from this scheme. 8) Drop Out of School Dropout of school is another vital project where children who cannot pursue their schooling are allowed to be admitted to our dropout school. They are the children who are found dropped out of their schools due to reasons of poverty and child labour. We help them to continue their studies in regular school and train them in the evenings in our dropout school too. The children are cared for well and they are given meals in the evening. They get trained in extracurricular activities too 9) Self Help Groups (SHGs) Self Help Groups (SHGs) are a set of teams formed by women volunteers. The strength of a group or team varies from a minimum of 12 women to a maximum of 20 women. Each group will be allocated a fund amount and they will circulate it among themselves to get benefitted out of it
