Mission Statement
Mission: Our students from underprivileged communities, will be given ample opportunities of activity-based learning as per New Education Policy 2020 such as wood craft, clay craft, paper craft, puppetry, weaving, gardening, cooking etc. Our resources like Pratham Foundation Computer Lab, Agastya Science Centre and STEM centre will help students to develop Confidence, Curiosity and Creativity. Remedial classes for weak students shall be top agenda point for the Management and teachers. Sports, NCC, cultural activities will have equal importance along with academic curriculum. Through Yoga practice our students shall learn to live in the present and to show unconditional love and compassion to fellow students (little Buddhas). Thus our students will realize their full potential physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally and be a participant in building a strong Nation.
About This Cause
BANDLA BAPAIAH VIDYA SAMSTHALA COMMITTEE, VETAPALEM PROFILE OF THE ORGANISATION Rao Saheb Bandla Bapaiah garu established Bandla Bapaiah Vidya Samsthala Committee (BBVSC), Vetapalem, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh, during November 1921, to promote education to rural area. British Government honored him with a title of Rao Saheb for his philanthropic activities. BBVSC has celebrated Centenary Celebrations by November 2022. The Bandla Bapaiah Vidya Samsthala committee is registered as a society on 13th January 1978 as per Societies Registration Act No. 21 of 1860. However our Society is now governed as per A.P. Society Registration Act No. 35 of 2001. The details of Present Management Committee and all other members’ details are attached to this brief note. BBVSC is unique and is being nurtured by the following: • The family of the Founder for 3 generations. • The honest and genuine village elders involving voluntarily since its inception with consistency of selfless motive. • The team of competent, devoted, and honest teachers since 1921. • Our most valued Alumni also joined us to give their wholehearted support and helping hand to this temple of education. • Parents of students which is a very recent positive trend to involve in their ward’s education. • National & International foundations who are eminent in improving educational system such as Prathama Foundation, Vandematram Foundation, Agastya International foundation & Butterfly Fields etc. • Some Corporate also started providing CSR – funds for projects improving quality of education and Infrastructure. A Brief Summary of our journey of 102 Years. Founder Rao Saheb Bandla Bapaiah Rao sahib Sri Bandla Bapaiah established a Middle School during 1921. He was honored by British Government with the Title of “Rao Saheb” for his philanthropic activities in Education, Health care and Spirituality. FREE MID-DAY MEAL SINCE 1936 FOR OUT STATION STUDENTS. Has a Free Mid-meal program since 1936 till date to encourage outstation student to pursue education in those days of difficulty and it is still operational with nourishing food (Donor Sri Gollapudi Radhakrishnaiah garu, now managed by his son G Sitaram). Progress during 1946, 1953, 1969 and 1981: After the sad demise of the founder in 1928, the Founder’s eldest son Sri Bandla Venkateswara Rao with the support of his brothers, family members and likeminded villagers could gradually develop • Developed the Middle School into High School (1946). • Obtained aided school status since 1953. • Started Junior College during 1969. • Started Degree College during 1981. • Formed an educational society “Bandla Bapaiah Vidya Samsthala Committee” during 1978. NGO STATUS. • Our Society Registration No, is 13/1978, dated 16 -01-1978. • The donations to this Society are exempted from tax under section 80G. • Our Darpan Unique ID from NITI Aayog is AP/2018/0194455. • We also have 12 A Certificate No. III/95/78-79. • FCRA Certificate received 0n 03-06-2021 by Ministry of Home Affairs Government of India, • CSR Form1 to receive CSR funds from companies. RECENT DEVELOPMENTS National and International Foundations who recognized our honest service with non-profit motive, and came forward to support and promote quality education to rural poor. • Pratham Foundation had donated a computer Lab with teacher for high school. (July 2018). • Vandematharam Foundation, Kalvakurthi, Telengana trained our teachers in innovative learning of Mathematics. • Butterfly fields had established a STEM Lab with the support of donors. • We also had donors from President’s family who came forward to establish 5 digital class rooms. • We established Agastya Science Lab, Lab on bike and Agastya Mathematics lab with support from family members of President of the society, and Alumni which was established by Agastya International Foundation. • We established one computer Lab for Junior College during November 2020 with CSR Funds donated by M/s Netcracker Technology Solutions (India) Private Limited, Hyderabad. • We established a 7 KW solar plant with support from M/s Netcracker Technology Solutions (India) Private Limited, Hyderabad. • Washrooms for boys with the support of Vasudha Foundation. • We established 2 virtual classrooms with support of Netcracker Technology Solutions (India) Private Limited, Hyderabad. • FUTURE PLANS Government of India brought a New Education Policy (NEP) during 2020. Keeping the NEP and other needs of BBVSC, we have identified several projects (small and big) to be implemented in the next two to three years. • We plan to establish, Agastya Innovation Hub, Electronics Lab, by Agastya International Foundation (AIF). • To establish English language lab one each for High School & Junior College. • A 10 KW solar plant for clean power. • A new building with 3 class rooms (with digital equipment) to replace tin roofed class rooms. • Vocational training centre in organic farming, basic electronics, communication skills, computer literacy, 3 D Printing, Animation and Graphics, Photo Shop etc. • A kitchen cum dining hall for preparing and serving free mid meal funded by Government of Andhra Pradesh. • Providing computers for teachers’ in their staff room. • Scholarship plans for meritorious students, a scheme to sponsor fees for students of underprivileged group. • Training and rewards for teachers. • Clay Craft center, wood crat center, Handloom craft center • Puppetry corner. • Opportunities to join Armed Forces. Training facilities for students interested to join Defense forces will be provided soon. Skilled and retired Army personnel of appropriate rank will be inducted into our school and junior college to encourage, motivate to join Armed Forces services. • Special Training for Girls. Government of India is now admitting girls to join Armed Forces CONSTRAINTS: The Government of Andhra Pradesh had withdrawn its aid for last 12 years for all the aided schools. They discontinued the provision of Government teachers in place of retired teachers. This has caused huge burden on our financial resources. Centenary Celebrations. We have started our preparations for Centenary Celebrations by November 2022 and our Alumni from all over the world will be participating. SUMMARY Bandla Bapaiah Vidya Samsthala Committee (BBVSC), had rendered 100 years of selfless service to underprivileged children of all communities and preparing for centenary celebrations during November 2022. All the teachers (present and retired) and ever grateful Alumni will be celebrating to express their gratitude to the Founder Rao Saheb Bandla Bapaiah a great philanthropist. He was honored by the then British Governor, Lord Wellingdon with title of “Rao Saheb”. (a title to a person for selfless service to society welfare). Free mid-day meal was provided for outstation students since 1936. The family of the Founder has been doing its best to sustain keep up the legacy of educating the underprivileged with not-for-profit motive for the last three generations. The eldest son of the founder Sri Bandla Venkateswara Rao developed the institution from Middle school in 1921 to High school in 1946, Junior College in 1969 and Degree College in 1981. The institution was given Government Aid of Government of Andhra Pradesh during 1953. At present, Lt Col Bandla Ankaiah, (a retired Army Officer of Indian Army), the present President of BBVSC is heading the organization with a dedicated Management team and group of Alumni. Our strengths 1. Support from strong and well-motivated Alumni. 2. Collaboration with National and International Foundations such Pratham Foundation, Agastya International Foundations. We have added Agastya Science lab, Agastya Mathematics lab and Agastya Lab on Bike. 3. Support from Corporate Sector under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by few organizations. Few more organizations are also contacted, and discussions are in the final stage. 4. United Way Hyderabad had taken us onboard and may commence their support. 5. Give Foundation India and USA have supported us on crowd funding campaign during 2021. 6. Have huge campus of 5 acres where 2.5 acres of paly grounds are available. 7. We have all certifications from State and Central Governments that are essential for non-profit organizations. The certificated are renewed where necessary. 8. We have FCRA Registration Certificate to receive foreign funds for our educational and related activities. Major Future Plans 1. Facilities for training boys and girls to join Armed Forces after 12th grade. We shall add facilities such as “Military Obstacle Training ground with equipment”. We will also recruit retired Army personnel as drill instructor and Physical Training instructor. Training will also include communication skills development programs. 2. Activity based learning centers such as Wood craft, Clay craft, Handloom craft and Organic farming facilities. These are essential curriculum as per New Education Policy 2020 (NEP2020) of Government of India. 3. We also plan to start vocational courses at Intermediate Education level (11th and 12th grades) in Electrical Engineering and Graphics and Animation. 4. Renovation of our 100-year-old building gifted by our beloved Founder. 5. Renovation of existing classrooms. 6. Construction of 6 more classrooms. 7. Construction of kitchen, storeroom, and a dining hall. 8. Use the existing Virtual Classrooms for organizing guest lectures and motivational talks by experts. 9. We will conduct creativity workshops by experts to encourage creativity. For this purpose, we plan to create Innovation Hub developed by Agastya International Foundation
