EDUCATION AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM a) “MITRAz Skill” [Moulding Intellect through Training And Zeal], is a skill-development initiative of MITRAz Foundation. We aim to uplift rural youth by providing standardized free skills training for those who have basic education, to become self-sufficient. It is a project that is first of its kind in Puttaparthi which focuses on imparting a blend of technical skills, soft skills and human values. We run four courses at our Skill Development Center at Puttaparthi. (a) General Duty Assistant (GDA - Healthcare) (b) Business Development Executive (BDE – BFSI) (c) Tally Prime (d) Information Technology Our knowledge partner for the GDA and BDE-BFSI courses is Tata Strive and Tally Essential is Tally Education. Placement opportunities are provided to students who complete these three courses. Students who complete the Tally course are provided certification. The courses are aimed to meet National Occupational Standards (NOS) specified by the Ministry of Skill Development. Expert trainers, student coaching sessions, parent counselling and periodic feedback from employers and alumni ensure industry relevancy and quality enhancement. We commenced this as a pilot project in Chinnapalli Government School near Puttaparthi and almost 40 students benefited from this program. The response from the students was overwhelmingly positive so we have now successfully extended our program to another government schools/hostels like the Sri Sathya Sai Bukkapatnam Government School, Social Welfare SC Girls Hostel, Puttaparthi etc. Class 8 and class 7 students have now shown enthusiasm to learn with us. Coming year we plan to start skilling them too. The focus of the program is on the school-to-work transition. One of the key aspects of our program is hands-on learning in spoken English, communication skills, and critical thinking. We believe that empowering students with these skills will not only enhance their academic performance but also prepare them for future success in various fields. Additionally, we have recently introduced online training sessions for Class 11 students. These sessions cover English language proficiency, general knowledge, analytics, and reasoning skills. By focusing on this specific age group, we aim to create a solid foundation that will benefit the students throughout their educational journey. We firmly believe in working from the bottom up so that every student can reap the maximum benefits from our program. c) INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR FINAL YEAR DEGREE STUDENTS “UGC Announced Compulsory Internship for Undergraduate Students: The decision was taken by UGC after it was announced under the National Education Policy (NEP) that internships will now be promoted and made compulsory.” Understanding the need for support to the rural colleges, we increased our activities and commenced a four/five month long internship program for final year students. In the beginning we started with 38 B Com students from Bukapatnam Government Degree College. Most of the youngsters studying at government colleges have no exposure to hands-on learning modules and practical skills development classes. d) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO STUDENTS FROM LOW INCOME FAMILIES, CONDUCTING WORKSHOPS, AND OTHERS - At MITRAz Foundation, we understand the challenges faced by students from low-income families, particularly those living in rural areas. To address this issue, additionally, we are providing financial assistance to more deserving students who are passionate about pursuing higher education. Our aim is to bridge the gap and ensure that no talented student is left behind due to financial constraints. In addition to financial support, we also conducted workshops and training sessions this year for students, elders and patients. These workshops cover a wide range of topics such as career guidance, skill development, health care, and personal growth. By equipping them with these essential skills, we strive to empower them to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. 2) HEALTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM a) YUV AYUSH PROGRAM:  Type 1 diabetes condition is usually diagnosed in children and young people and it used to be called juvenile diabetes. They have absolute insulin deficiency so they can be given only insulin to control their blood sugar and not tablets. The cost of insulin is very high and most of them have to take at least 3 to 4 times a day.  MITRAz Foundation has increased its support to young Type 1 diabetic patients, between the ages of 15 years to 25 years, by providing insulin injections. This financial year we are supporting 10+ juvenile diabetic patients.  We also aim to empower them to manage their diabetes and work with them to set and meet behavior change goals to improve their health. b) Mitravaani, is our free 24hr cell phone radio service in partnership with Gram Vaani. Supported by a network of volunteers, we reached out to the ‘digitally challenged’ people in rural India to spread health awareness, improve spoken English etc. using IVR technology. Key Highlights of Mitravaani, our IVR based Cellphone Radio  278+ audio content clips broadcasted on HealthCare awareness including prevention, protection, misconceptions, myths, self/family care, etc.  23179 outbound calls.  7776+ inbound queries/interactions and feedback. 3. SOCIAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM a) BUDDY CONNECT SESSIONS FOR RURAL YOUTH As compared to the past, this year we have partnered with many organisations to conduct Buddy Connect sessions for students under MITRAz Skills. These one-on-one phone connect sessions are an integral part of the training process as they concentrate on improvement of spoken English, honing communication skills and ensuring workplace readiness of our students. These sessions are conducted for every batch of students with MITRAz Skills. b) ONLINE CAREER COUNSELLING SESSION We conduct a series of career counselling sessions for students under MITRAz Skills. Experts from various organisations, volunteers and our own facilitators came together to address the current batch. As most of our students come from rural backgrounds, they are unaware of the job options available to them and how to equip themselves with the requisite skills and emotional head space to secure, hold on to and thrive in a decent job. These sessions certainly pushed them in the right direction as they embark upon their careers. c) SKILLING THE YOUTH FOR TOMORROW - ONE-DAY CONCLAVE AT PUTTAPARTHI On 18th June for the first time in Puttaparthi, MITRAz Foundation hosted a conclave on ‘Skilling the Youth for Tomorrow’. The focus of the inaugural one-day conclave was to bring together leaders from Industry, Academia as well as Skill Ambassadors. The objective was to discuss initiatives and schemes that could help build skills in our youth so that they become employable and contribute to nation building. The program was a great success where more than 200 people attended. We had the pleasure of hosting parents of present students and future prospects. The highlight of the event was an insightful speech delivered by Prof. Mrutyunjay Mahapatra, CEO Syndicate Bank, which left everyone feeling inspired and motivated. Following this, a panel discussion took place, providing a platform for thought-provoking exchanges among attendees. Additionally, we expressed our heartfelt gratitude towards the faculty and staff of MITRAz for their unwavering support in shaping the future of our students. Their dedication has played a significant role in driving our institution's success. To add a touch of cultural flair to the program, our present IT and GDA students mesmerized everyone with a captivating dance performance accompanied by an engaging mime act. It was indeed a delightful way to conclude such an eventful day. Our mission is to enrich the lives of rural youth and communities by empowering them with skills, a continuous learning approach to life and a larger commitment to serve the society through inculcation of human values. We have been only able to reach these milestones with the help of dedicated volunteers and generous donors. We hope to continue to run these projects and take up new initiatives in the near future. Thank you.
