About This Cause
Activity Details : Educational Activity: 1. School : Yoganjali Vidhyavihar (Nursary to Higher secondary school) : Yoganjali School was started in 1974 based on the synthesis of Nai Talim means 3H Education (Head,Hand & Heart ) philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and value education of Sri Aurobindo . Children from about 42 nearby villages study here and receive quality education without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed ,race or religion. We provide free education to students . The students are coming from slum area and economically backward families. Nearly 10120 boys and girls have taken the advantage of the school. Some of them have attained a respectable place in their respective field. At presents 750 students study in the school. 2. Residents for under privileged boys : Yoganjali Boys Hostel Yoganjali Boys Hostel has been functioning since 1975 with the objective of providing education to boy’s from the socially and economically backward classes. Boys from all classes are given free of cost admission to the hostel. Total 3500 boys have been benefited with the hostel facility. Currently 82 boys are residing in this hostel. 3. Scholership Programe for needy students : Student Help scheme: We provide the needy children with all the educational requirements like book, Uniforms, School bags and financial help ,scholarship for further studies. 4. Skill development : Vocational Training Centre : Yoganjali’s aim at providing training in to futuristic skill which shell help the youth to get sustainable employment opportunities and living life with dignity. We are offering skill training to students. We offered 4 trades right now : Plumbing, Wiremen, Beauty Parlor, Fashion Designing . This year total 242 students are taking benefit of this centre . Women Empowerment: 1. Legal Aid to women : Women from marginalized and socially backward communities are given counseling for social and domestic issues and are provided with information on Legal Rights awareness and issues related their physical and mental health at these centers. Nearly 34855 women have been contacted through field visit and awareness camps in 1798 villages from 98 to 2017 Total 1211 legal cases registered in the centre and we have been able to solve 916 cases of legal social issues successfully . An estimated 400 women are supported through this center every year. 2. Shelter to women : Matrughar ( Short Stay Home for Women) : The shelter home is a sheltering-tree for the neglected and harassed women by the society. Here the women are admitted without any discrimination of cast ,creed ,race or religion. They are trained to live independently and respectfully in the society by developing their skill and capabilities after their vocational training . 3. WHRAP ( Women Health Rights Advocacy Programme) Worked with 12250 women in 13 village for their Health Right and awareness . Covered 1 PHC and provided all medical services to women ,children and adolescent 4. Livelihood opportunity through Village industries: This centre was sat up in 1990. Total 390 training programs are organized for women interested in undertaking home-based production of marketable products like different types of pickles, articles made of leather, embroidery, stitching, articles for house decoration, items for daily use like detergent powder, chyavanprash, Vaseline, balms, incense sticks, wax candles etc.. Attempts are also made to link the women with different government schemes for self employment after the trainings. An estimated 38610 women have been trained at the center since its inception. A hand grinding spices unit is run by the institution to provide livelihood to the needy. In this unit we prepare handmade spices like Mirchi Powder, Haldi powder, Dhana -Jiru etc. 5. Gender Innovation Programme : We have started Gender Innovation programme with 500 women in 5 villages of Sidhpur Block. The main objectives of the programme are to create gender awareness amongst community, To develop Gender based intervention in the programme village , to reduce the Gender inequality in the economic ,Education & Health and survival in equalities , to break the vicious cycle of Gender inequality . Our area of intervention are Education, Health, Micro finance, Life skill education, Awareness on Rights of Women, Computer training ,Self defense skills, Linking women farmer group with various government schemes . Health Activity : 1. National Aids Control Programme : The organization has been organizing targeted interventions for controlling the spread of AIDS in Siddhpur and Unjha block since 2001. In the program area total 1959 people (MSM &FSW)suffering from various sexually transmitted diseases are identified and they and their partners are provided medical care. Actual Coverage 33317 of Target Group from 2001 to 2017.Total 41338 High Risk behavior person counseled .Total 42594 persons attended our clinic and total 2814 treated of RTI/STI disease. 13 person found HIV Positive and referred for ART 2. School AIDS Education Programme : This programme was conducted in 54 schools of Sidhpur , Unjha and Satlasana Block of Mahesana District . The aim was to create awareness of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted disease amongst the students. More than 45000 students had been covered under this program Trained 240 Teacher and 203 Students for peer education 3. IRHAP (Integrated Rural HIV/AIDS Programme): Worked in 10 Village of Unjha and Satlasana Block of Mahesana District .Covered 55000 population to create awareness of HIV/AIDS and Sexually transmitted disease amongs rural people . 4. Maternal and Child Health : This programme was implemented in un served and underserved remote areas where to provide medical help is the great problem. We covered 15 villages of Satlasana and Vadgam Block. The main objects of the programme was to provide medical services to Women and children , link with Government services and reduce Maternal and Infant Mortality Rate. Worked with 650 Pregnant women and covered approximate 17500 Population. Social Development Activity: 1. Protecting Child Right : This program is being implemented in 99 villages of Patan district. Out of school children between 9 -14 years of age who are engaged in child labour or other activities are identified. The parents of such children are counseled and the children were sent to school again. So far 424 have been identified as out of school children and 265 of them have been given admission in schools again. In addition, 915 families of child laborers and other vulnerable families identified and 842 families have been linked with the various welfare schemes of the State Government. Formed 99 Child Protection Commiitee to solve child rights problem. 2. BCI Programme : Yonganjali is a local partner of CottonConnect under BCI Program. The objectives of the BCI programme are to make cotton production Better for the Farmers, Better for the Environment and to ensure a Better future for the cotton based industry. The programme is aimed at promoting judicious use of water and reduction in chemical fertilizers and pesticides in cotton farming. The programme also helps to share international information related to cotton production and brings traceability and transparency in cotton supply. YKM started activities of BCI program during the year 2012-13 in 125 Villages of Patan District with Total : Farmer : 10000 (Male Farmer : 8000 , Female Farmer : 2000 ) 3. Total Sanitation Programme : Under the Total Sanitation Campaign, 2500 BPL (Below Poverty Line) families in Siddhpur were supported for construction of toilets in their homes. 4. Save the Girl child Campaign ( Beti Bachao) : Save the Girl Child campaign was organized in Siddhpur and Visnagar blocks. Meetings were organized in different colleges, with caste and community groups, women’s groups etc. A huge women’s convention was organized in Visnagar town attended by more than 2000 women. The issue of declining number of girls in the society, its consequences and the scenario for the future was shared and discussed in an attempt to create awareness on the seriousness of issue. Rural Development Activity : 1974 : In the periphery of Ganeshpura, ponds have been dug in five villages & repaired roads for better transportation with the cooperation of the students & village people. 5. 1975-76: During the devastation in north Gujarat because of heavy rain fall 500 huts have been made in various village for the flood affected people with the financial cooperation of the Sadvichar Parivar Ahmedabad. 6. 1976-77 : Under the Food for work scheme with the help of Sadvichar Parivar, Ahmedabad she worked in North Gujarat & recharged dry wells, dug old ponds, repaired them for irrigation work & distributed grocery and food grains . 7. 1977-78 :Developed Harijan (Dalit) colony for the untouchable people at Kholwada village near Siddhpur. 8. 1979-80: In 42 villages of North Gujarat under the scheme of Sarvoday Yojana, provided financial help for digging wells, construction of Irrigation canals, distributing seeds & fertilizers help for animal husbandry, educational help, provided uniforms and books to students. 9. 1981-82:Constructed 124 Houses for the refuges of the troubled villages of North Gujarat. 10. 1982-84:PadYatra in North Gujarat for the awareness of rural development, education, women empowerment , drug prohibition .During this period tree plantation ,farmers workshop, women seminars, students meetings in various schools had been arranged to activate hidden talents & to propagate Sarvoday Vichardhara. 11. Organised Eye camps every years from 1979 to 1984 and 650 operations had been done for cataract. In 2006 done 256 cataract operation and examined 600 eye patients in Eye camps.
