About This Cause

Rashtrotthana Parishat is a community service organization, founded in 1965, that aims to create a healthy and sustainable society rooted in Bharatiya ethos. Its activities are in the focus areas of literature, education, health and social-work. Its activities are in the focus areas: ● Literature for authentic exploration of Bharat’s true history, culture & heritage : 1200+ publications, 2.5+ crore copies sold ● Education to inculcate Samagra Vyaktitva Vikas of students through Panchamukhi Shikshana: 25,000+ students ● Health for nurturing healthier communities through yoga, medical care and allied services: 5.5+ lakh beneficiaries ● Service to bring about social empowerment through community engagement and sustainability initiatives: 4+ lakh beneficiaries Education: Rashtrotthana recognized the need for educational institutions that integrate Bharatiya ethos and pedagogical approaches and entered the education sector in 1986. State Board Schools (1972)) are committed to provide affordable and quality educaiton to rural and urban underprivileged children, in both Kannada and English medium - 11 schools, 4,500 students, 150+ teachers Tapas (2012) and Saadhana (2017) are programs that offer integrated residential JEE & NEET coaching for selected meritorious underprivileged boys & girls respectively. Tapas - 134 IIT & NIT; Saadhana - 103 MBBS Prashikshana Bharati, (2021), has been conducting teacher orientation programs in schools and BEd colleges across Karnataka to instill Bharatiya ethos. Teachers Trained – 10,000, Schools – 650 Service: Community Development Rashtrotthana started its community engagement activities to empower underprivileged and to promote sustainability through various programs. An Integrated slum development program called Seva Vasathi was started in 1989 to improve the living conditions of slum dwellers through education for children, self reliance for women & youth and health & wellness for all. 220 slums - 56,000+ beneficiaries Learning centres - 360; 6,000+ children Self Reliance Centres - 34; Beneficiaries - 10,000+ Self Help Groups - 200; Members - 2000+ Health & Wellness Beneficiaries - 30,000+ Environmental Sustainability Madhav Srusti (2006) is a centre to promote ecological balance through sustainable environmental practices such as indigenous cow breeds preservation and an agro-forest cultivation to train farmers and the general public. [ total area - 110 acres ] [ 600+ cows ] [ 15,000+ trees ] [ 35 acres - tree plantation ] [ donated 500 bulls to farmers ] [ Indigenous breeds: Gir, Sahiwal, Kankrej, Tharparkar, Devani, Hallikar, Malenadu Gidda, Ongole & Amritmahal ] Health: To fulfill the evolving health & wellness needs of society, Rashtrotthana started yoga centres, blood banks and hospitals. Rashtrotthana Blood Centre was started in Bangalore in 1993 and in Hubli in 2010. Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Yoga and Naturopathy with Lifestyle and Nutrition counselling are all under one roof. JMRH offers ‘Clinic on Wheels’ (CoW), free medical consultations and medicines to slum dwellers right at their doorstep and Samraksha, a thalassemia day-care facility.
