About This Cause

Name of the TRUST - Bhaorao Deoras Seva Nyas (BDSN) Service of downtrodden exploited for centuries is the basic to the Trust. The aim of Trust is to do their emancipation through education, health and value inculcation. It can be done by creating many teams of dedicated workers and centres. To inspire such workers to come forward from various streams of life, especially from education, health, and technical fields; and to prepare them for social service is the primary objective of the Trust. Creation of Indian culture and ethos-based education and social institutes and helping the existing institution working with similar aims is the mandate of the Trust. Trained and dedicated workers are expected to work in remote forest dwellings; inaccessible hilly regions and harsh deserts to help bring these centuries’ old uncared masses to the national mainstream. HEALTH Efforts are focused on enhancing healthcare for the underprivileged through a range of impactful initiatives. These initiatives are designed to address diverse healthcare needs and improve overall well-being, enabling individuals to lead healthier, more productive lives. 1. Vishram Sadan (Rest House for the attendants of the patients) Understanding the difficulties families face when seeking treatment at major hospitals, the Rest House (Vishram Sadan) initiative was launched. This program offers affordable and comfortable accommodation for patients and their attendants near medical facilities, providing a dignified alternative to inadequate housing options such as hospital corridors or roadsides. Since its inception, Rest Houses have been established near several prominent hospitals: • Madhav Seva Ashram, Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI), Lucknow (2002) • All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi (2018) • Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna (2019) • King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow (2020) • National Cancer Institute (NCI)-AIIMS, Jhajjar (2021) • Madhav Seva Vishram Sadan, AIIMS, Rishikesh (2024) 2. Treatment of Eyes Trusts' dedication to vision care has been unwavering since 1995, focusing on alleviating eye ailments through regular camps in slums and villages, with a special emphasis on cataract referrals for surgery. Our efforts reached a milestone during the 2019 Kumbh festival in Prayagraj, UP with the Netra-Kumbh (A Grand Eye-Camp) initiative, where nearly 2 lakhs individuals were screened, and 1.5 lakhs spectacles were distributed, an accomplishment honoured in the LIMCA Book of Records. 2a. Deole Netra Chikitsalaya (Deole Eye Hospital) Building on the success of Netra-Kumbh (Grand Eye-Camp), Trust launched a permanent eye-testing facility in Lucknow, offering state-of-the-art diagnostic services, including pathological tests. Named in honor of Mr Madhav Rao Deole, a revered Founder Trustee of BDSN, this facility has been serving the community since 2020. In 2021, the establishment of a fully equipped Operation Theatre (OT) further enhanced our ability to provide high-quality cataract surgeries at an affordable cost. Since its inception in 2020, Deole Eye Hospital has served more than 40,000 patients. 2b. Ashok Singhal Eye Treatment Centre Established in July 2022 in Ayodhya, the Ashok Singhal Netra Chikitsa Sansthan (Ashok Singhal Eye Treatment Centre) honours the esteemed Mr Ashok Singhal. Located near the Ram Mandir, this centre significantly improves access to vision care for devotees traveling from rural areas. It provides comprehensive eye-testing services at a nominal fee. Since its opening in 2022, the centre has served more than 75,000 patients. 3. Swasthya Seva Prakalp (Project of Health Services) The Project, inspired by the vision of Mr Bhaorao Deoras ji, embodies Trusts' mission to provide essential healthcare and educational opportunities to those in need. The initiatives under Swasthya Seva Prakalp include: • Free health camps and preliminary treatments. • Referrals for serious illnesses to tertiary hospitals. • Clinics for eye care and disability support. • Health awareness and preventive care programs. • Participation in maternal, child care, and immunization drives. • Blood donation camps and polio eradication efforts. 4. Akshay Seva Prakalp (Food Distribution Project) BDSN launched the Akshay Seva Prakalp (Food Distribution Project) to support economically disadvantaged individuals, initially distributing food near AIIMS Delhi. This effort quickly expanded to four key locations in Delhi: AIIMS, Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, and Lady Hardinge Hospital, collectively benefiting approximately 1,500-2000 individuals daily. As of March 2025, the initiative has surpassed 58 lakh beneficiaries. EDUCATION In alignment with the Trusts’ founding vision, the commitment to enhancing educational access remains steadfast. Guided by the visionary leadership of Shri Bhaorao Deoras ji, who inspired the establishment of the first Saraswati Shishu Mandir (A Chain of Primary Schools) in Gorakhpur, Trust has continually nurtured the academic ambitions of young minds. 1. Mahamana Shikshan Sansthan Inspired by the enduring principles of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, Mahamana Shikshan Sansthan (Mahamana Educational Institute) in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, is dedicated to fostering the holistic development of India’s youth. The project aims to cultivate a balanced and progressive society rooted in India’s rich cultural heritage, ensuring that every talented individual, with monthly family income less than Rs 30,000, has the access to opportunities. Launched on January 19, 2019, the initiative has seen remarkable success. As of 2024-25, Mahamana Shikshan Sansthan has welcomed 114 students, with successive batches of IIT JEE aspirants achieving notable results nationwide. The program’s annual expenditure of ₹1 lakh per student underlines its commitment to comprehensive support. This includes provisions for student housing and study room facilities. Additionally, ₹1.25 lakh is contributed annually towards the fees of students pursuing B.Tech/MBBS, further ensuring access to higher education for deserving candidates. 2. Mahamana Shikshan Sansthan Balika Prakalp (MSSBaP) (For Girl Students) This is the same facility as above but for the Girl students. 61 girls have got benefitted till now. 3. Bhaorao Deoras Memorial Scholarship Through the Bhaorao Deoras Memorial Scholarship, the trust supports students from Class 1 to postgraduate and professional courses. Initiated in 1995-96 this scholarship program awards between ₹8 to 12 lakhs annually to meritorious students from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and the North-Eastern States. The Trust aims to increase the Scholarship amount and also the number of beneficiaries. 4. Samarth Bharat Samarth Bharat, an initiative of the Trust, encompasses a diverse approach to national development through its Skill Development Programs and Career Development Centres (CDCs). This endeavour is committed to empowering marginalized communities by equipping them with essential skills needed for effective workforce participation, thus fostering economic growth and creating large-scale employment opportunities. Skill Development Programs Since their inception, Samarth Bharat’s Skill Development Programs have significantly impacted the fight against unemployment and skill gaps. Operating across 27 centres, these programs offer 12 diverse training modules, including technical and vocational skills such as air conditioning repair, mobile repair, and bakery. These initiatives guide participants towards meaningful employment and entrepreneurial ventures, ensuring they are supported throughout their professional journeys.
