About This Cause

Manna Trust is a professional, autonomous, not-for-profit trust dedicated to changing lives of the Under-served population in India through public-private partnerships. Set up in 2012, the mission is to be a center to eradicate hunger in classrooms. Manna Trust helps elected governments achieve equitable and efficient delivery of critical social services by conceiving and implementing programs in the areas of nutrition and health. Our Initiatives have touched lives of over 20, 75, 50,000 people in some of the most backward regions in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh. The scale and spread of our current operations have been facilitated by strengths that include a professional team and transparent style of functioning sound financial and administrative procedures and efficient monitoring systems. Manna Trust’s strong commitment to working with the state and openness to innovation are qualities that percolate down to our representatives in every state, district, block/mandal and village where we operate. The mandate of the Supreme Court clearly spells out that ‘cooked midday meal’ is a necessary component to be introduced by the Department of Education. Manna Trust recognizes that children cannot study on a hungry stomach. To retain a child who has made all the effort of enrolling and coming to school, addressing the basic nutritional need is important. One way of doing so is to provide him or her with one wholesome meal a day free of cost. This would be an incentive for more parents from marginalized sections of society to send their children to school. Manna Trust believes that the midday meal ensures nutrition at a crucial phase in a child’s life and contributes to children well being and future, as it enriches the status of their health, and contributes to their ability to learn better. Apart from the regular meals, Manna Trust felt the need to provide children with additional nutrition and have started giving weekly eggs to children. Manna Trust had entered into a partnership with GAIN (Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition) an International organization to serve children with fortified meals. Manna Trust raises the excess funds needed for the smooth running of the program through corporate donations. Manna Trust Meal consumption per Child as it stands today. No. of Working days : 220.
