Mission Statement
Impact lives, society, the nation and ultimately our future through 'Santhosa Samsara'
About This Cause
In 2012 the Santhosa Samsara Family took in a 6year old girl who along with her 2 siblings had witnessed her mother immolation herself in a small room. The children sat with her for 3 days as the other slowly died. This little girl has complicated issues psychologically and was struggling to adjust to the home environment and her foster siblings. Unfortunately, very few places in India are equipped and trained to deal with early childhood trauma with mental illness. This is how the vision for Child Healing Center was birthed. Objectives of Child Healing Center : • To see the most abused and neglected and traumatized children and teens, restored and redeemed. • To effectively deal with the effects of psychological trauma on children. • To educate and train child caring professionals who work with traumatized children and youth. • To educate and train foster and adoptive parents to care for children from hard places. • To provide and promote safety, permanency and well-being for children with psychological trauma. Target Audience: Currently the beneficiaries are teachers, psychologists, psychiatrists, parents, orphanages in charge, primary caregivers, siblings of orphans. The primary beneficiaries to be added to the program at the intervention phase will be children who require trauma care intervention.
