About This Cause
Here is an introduction to our organisation: Compassion Unlimited Plus Action (CUPA) is an animal welfare and rescue organisation, setup in the year 1991 by Ms. Crystal Rogers, a British woman who moved permanently to India to establish the public charitable Trust for the rescue, relief and care of Bangalore’s stray, community animals. The organisation was founded by 3 women including Ms Suparna Ganguly & Dr. Shiela Rao. Today, the organisation operates seven centres across the city of Bengaluru, some of these centres are shelters that house ill, injured, abandoned and orphaned animals found and reported by members of the general public and oversees the recovery, re-homing and rehabilitation of each and every animal that passes through our doors. We also are one of the only organisations attending to cruelty cases across the city of Bangalore. We have 500+ animals under our care and provide medical care for 30000+ animals every year. CUPA is recognized by the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) and is certified under 80G and FCRA to collect donations.
