Mission Statement
Kamalnishtha Sansthan started its journey in February 1997 in lap and fragrance of the sands of village Kolsiya, District Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. The establishment of Kamalnishtha Sansthan (KNS) is inspired by personalities such as Late Kolu Singh, a freedom fighter and social reformer, and Late Choudhary Begaram, a freedom fighter and soldier in Azad Hind Fauj (INA). These two personalities are the two thought pillars behind every work performed by the organization. Registered under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act of 1958, 80 FCRA, and Persons with Disabilities Act 52 (92) of 1995, KNS is also exempted under section 12A and 80G-5(F) of the Indian Income Tax Act. KNS is a non-profit and community-need based organization which is of the people, by the people, and for the people working directly with the poor and marginalized. Our strategic focus is to create an enabling environment in which people have access to opportunities – to maximize their potential, to participate actively in the development process, and shape the present and future of their communities and country. KNS is actively run by its founder Dr. Dharampal Singh, who is a social worker and devoted his life to the education and welfare of society. Kamalnishtha Sansthan commenced its journey with the vision “To reach the unreached” and impart equality and opportunities concerned with sustainable development to catalyse the process of human development maintaining harmony with mother Earth. The organisation strives for excellence in education and rural technology; women empowerment, advances in vocational applications, khadi and village industries, legal matters concerning intellectual property, environmental balance, agricultural betterment, consumer protection, civil rights, social awareness, social evil eradication, differently abled people welfare activities, RCH activities, SHG training, research & development, de-addiction, employment-oriented activities, biocontrol laboratory, senior citizen’s care, rain water harvesting, animal conservation, small scale industries promotion, cluster of artisans for self-sufficiency, bolstering culture and heritage, providing people with right information, case studies, etc. Some of the main purposes of the organization are enlisted below: 1. Extension of educational and health services. 2. To encourage women and child development programmes. 3. To make efforts for land conservation and environment preservation. 4. To make efforts to preserve historical and cultural heritage. 5. To make efforts for social awareness. 6. To encourage productivity oriented economic programmes for sustainable development. 7. To develop mass opinion for solving universal problems. 8. To adapt suitable means for propagation and spreading of education in general, physical education, women’s education, non-formal education, alternative education, continuing education, employment-oriented education, technical education, teacher’s training, adult-education, nutrition education etc. 9. To establish and run educational institution, crèches, Anganwadi and other training centers for spreading education and to make efforts for making available cheaper text books, audio-visuals and other materials. 10. To make efforts for socialization of education, residential primary education and for improving the standard of education. 11. To conduct sports programmes for physical development and to establish and run a sports complex. 12. To educate people about de-addiction and start de-addiction centre for treatment of the addicts. 13. To encourage cleanliness in village and use of clean drinking water and establish multipurpose service centers for village development. 14. To make arrangements for citizenship education and to educate people in this regard for citizen’s awareness and for awakening the village representatives to develop leadership quality. 15. To undertake necessary agricultural activities and training to educate the farmers about the fertilizers and chemicals used for agriculture. 16. To conduct different activities for the welfare of youth, such as youth clubs, youth centers and conducting excursions, seminars and youth exchange programmes. 17. To make efforts for the educational, social, economic, cultural uplifting of orphans, helpless, old, handicapped, backward and deprived persons and to arrange for their rehabilitation by establishing shelter homes. 18. To organise deliberations, lectures, conferences, meetings, workshops to consider solutions for eliminating the universally faced social, economic, educational, cultural, political, philosophical, moral, health- related, environmental and other problems and to publish and circulate the results thereof as may be necessary. 19. To have networking with such other organizations, institutions and societies whose objectives are similar to that of Kamalnishtha-Sansthan and to associate with them as may be necessary.
About This Cause
KNS is a grass-roots project implementation organization who is working in the rural areas of Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan state from last 25years for upliftment of society and women empowerment.. KNS is working and implementing projects at local level with the vision of “To reach the unreached”. KNS is an NGO who is working for the upliftment and empowerment of local society. KNS implemented all its project for the betterment of local society and to improve their socio-economic status. Kamalnishtha Sansthan (KNS) has a sound knowledge base of the society and development pedagogy, the right attitude, and commitments to achieve the socio-environmental goals in a variety of contexts of which KNS is working. KNS makes quality and defining element of social welfare through a combination of self and external commitments for unending enthusiasm and devotion to quality improvement for sustainable development. It is well known that if you want to change or improve the conditions of the people then educate them, education is the only tool which can make the difference. Education should start from early childhood days and to maximize the child education, KNS is running a school from its early days which is providing high value education to the kids of the nearby areas. Some people of the area have to left education in their early days due to personal or financial reasons and they opted to earn for their families rather than education. For such students, KNS make them aware about the schemes run by National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), GOI, who offers distant education to such people, who were unable to complete their education and through this scheme thousands of students were helped by KNS. There were lot of people in the area who want to complete their higher education (graduation, post-graduation) but due to knowledge about distant courses run by different universities they were unable to complete it. KNS assisted all such people in achieving their dream of higher education. Tobacco and alcohol are the evils of the society and spread awareness about them a De-addiction campaign was organized by KNS to save the people of local area from these big daemons of the society. Health campaigns were organised time to time for general health issues and check-ups where experts were invited for benefits of the people. For the environment conservation point of view, KNS worked on the rain water harvesting project, under this project many house hold water tanks were developed in different houses of nearby areas to collect the rain water. Many seminars/ lectures were also organized to educate people about importance of trees and conservation of natural resources. To reach a wide range of people KNS started a community radio station in 2012 and dedicated this station for the benefits of the society. Local people were engaged to develop radio programs in local dialect. Radio programs were developed and broadcasted on the society beneficial topics such as consumer protection, civil rights, social awareness, social evil eradication, de-addiction, women empowerment, education for all, child labour etc. Along with these social topics lot of general awareness and knowledge sharing programmes were also broadcasted. These programmes got a lot of appreciation from local society. This is a continuous process which is ongoing. KNS also assisted in setting up community radio station in nearby districts of Rajasthan and Haryana. During the COVID-19 pandemic, KNS organized more than 75 international and national level webinars on almost all the relevant dimensions of life to help the society amid COVID-19 and it has benefited life of more than 1 lakh direct participants and innumerable viewers on social media. KNS also started an Industrial Training Institute to educate and develop a work force capable with skill set to work in industries or to start their own small-scale industry. “One educated man can educate one more but one educated woman can educate the full family” with this thought in mind KNS started a graduation college for women. Details of some of the project work completed by the NGO are listed below: Rain Water Harvesting Project: In this project, water tanks were constructed in different houses of the nearby villages to collect the rain water from the roof top. This water then can be used for agricultural as well as household activities. Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) audited the performance of this project and praised the NGO’s hard work in the parliament of India. Tie & Dye Project: (June-2006 to May-2007) KNS completed the project under Ministry of Rural Development, GOI. A total of 40 women were trained for performing traditional Tie- Dye activities on cotton fabrics, which are used in handmade designs on traditional Rajasthani wear i.e. odhani, Ghagra-Chuni, blouse, kurta, salwar, turban, etc. The project has certainly helped in improving the skills of rural beneficiaries and they have gained confidence for micro-enterprise, whereby they can continue with income generation activities even after the training. Women beneficiaries and their families express their gratitude for the assistance and training received from KNS to enable them to start self-employment income generation to supplement their family income. Enable the Differently-abled (April-2009 to March-2011): KNS implemented the project “Vocational Training Programme” funded by Ministry of Rural Development, GOI, for socio-economic empowerment of the differently abled. A total of 628 differently abled men and women were grouped in units for training in a systematic manner and were trained by the instructor based on skills they inherit. Skill training programs were also selected based on the need & demand in the area such as weaving blanket, tie-dye. After the attainment of the skills, the members were provided with financial assistance through bank or any agency linkages, and the products made by the disabled were marketed through the DWCRA groups and SHG’s. After completion of the respective training, the disabled have additional skills for their livelihood, and with the earnings, they lead a better life and get complete confidence despite being physically challenged. Financial Literacy: KNS organized two seminars cum workshops on the basics of the Indian Capital Market with the assistance of Investors Education and Protection Fund (IEPF) (A Union of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, GOI). One day seminar took place on the KNS campus on 12th March 2010, where more than 500 participants attended the same. The second seminar was organized by KNS in association with Seth Gyaniram Bansidhar Podar College, Nawalgarh at the college campus on 21st March 2010, where more than 150 people participated. The main aim behind organizing the seminars cum workshops was to study and discuss the present nature and future scenario of the Indian capital market. Fight for Right: Community Radio Station- Kamalvani 90.4 FM in association with the Centre for Dalit Rights, Jaipur, Rajasthan, organized a one-day Legal training camp for Dalits in campus of its parent organization-Kamalnishtha Sansthan on Feb 2, 2014 where people were made aware of the existing Law for the welfare and protection of Dalit’s rights. Factshala: FactShala is a news and information literacy programme launched in India by Internews in collaboration with DataLEADS with support from Google.org and the Google News Initiative. This programme aims to educate the Indian people about media literacy and empower them to consume information critically. Under this project CRS-Kamalvani 90.4 FM (subsidiary of KNS) broadcasted lot of informative radio programs and conducted trainings physically. These broadcast and trainings were mainly on the topics such as information landscape, misinformation, disinformation, fake news, information and bias, critical thinking, fact-checking, stop, check, go ahead. People got empowered with tools, techniques, approaches & vision to deal with this era of Fake News. Radio Mathematics project for artisans society: Kamalvani 90.4FM took the project “Radio Mathematics Project for Artisans Society” to provide good understanding of basic mathematics to the rural society so that they can implement this knowledge in their day-to-day life. Under this project, 180 radio programs were developed in local language by local people of the society and each program was broadcasted twice a day for better understanding of the mathematical facts. Empowering the local artisans in mathematics has contributed in achieving the vision “Koshal Bharat-Kushal Bharat” of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. This empowerment also assisted in increasing their productivity and efficiency. For the effective implementation of techniques in the field of agriculture executed by the KNS, Dr Dharampal Singh (Founder & Secretory, KNS) has been bestowed with the award title “Dharti Putra” by C.R.I Pumps and Agriculture Times, Jaipur in 2014. It is also an award for acknowledging the continuous endeavour of CRS-Radio Kamalvani of KNS for the upliftment of farmers by broadcasting various radio programmes for agricultural development. The KNS has been awarded by “Van Vistarak” award for its in creditable & excellent work in forestry propagation. This award is an acknowledgment for the strenuous efforts made by KNS for saving our National bird-Peacock. The Kamalnishtha Sansthan has been acknowledged for the appreciable work done in assistance with the Life Insurance Corporation of India in making arrangements for the social security of underprivileged people working in the unorganized sector, and scholarship distribution to their children to motivate them for pursuing higher education. The certificate of appreciation was bestowed upon by then-Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Smt. Sumitra Singh. Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) audited the performance of the rain water harvesting project undertaken by Kamalnishtha Sansthan and praised the NGO’s hard work in the parliament.
