Mission Statement
The Trust aims to ensure easily accessible and adequate supply of safe and quality blood and blood components collected and procured from a voluntary non-remunerated regular blood donor in well equipped premises, which is free from transfusion transmitted infections, and is stored and transported under optimum conditions. Transfusion under supervision of trained personnel for all who need it irrespective of their economic or social status through comprehensive, efficient and a total quality management approach. To cater comprehensively to Thalassemia Major Children's and Dialysis patients free of cost and/or at negligible token amount and thus making their lives more meaningful, enhanced.
About This Cause
Samarpan Healthcare Centre, 24x7 founded by a Registered NGO in 1998, a trust of chemists situated in between Mankhurd-Chembur, Kurla to Mulund area of North East Dist of Mumbai, India with the active support & fund required for setting up project was 100% contributed by the chemists only. A unique concept of service to humanity in professional way - By the Chemists - For the Society. • Samarpan in continuation with mission statement ensures; o Easily accessible and adequate supply of safe & quality blood components, o Procured from a 100% voluntary non-remunerated regular blood donor, o Committed to improve services for supply of safe and quality blood components, o 100% Component Preparation-Packed Cells, Platelet, Plasma, Cryo for rational use of blood, o 100% Component NAT-Nucleic Acid Test products, o LEUCO-REDUCED 100% components using indigenous top & bottom quadruple/triple bags separated on Automated Component Extractor for "NIL" ATR, o Fully Automated for F/R Grouping-Cross Matching-Antibody Screening, o Fully Automated ELISA Processor for HIV I/II, HCV, HBV & MP screening, o Single Donor Platelets, lowest charges in NGO Sector, issues within 3 hours from donor selection, o Counselling/assistance to Hepatitis B & C reactive donors, o Strict QC & QA protocols, Monitoring for ATR-Maintaining computerised database, o Fulfilling need of hospitals with MoU, 24x7 pick-up/drop services for blood to ailing patients, o Issues at not for profit charges by making a policy that no one should suffer for blood due to want of even reasonable charges and thus making blood available first. o MoU with MCGM’s maternity homes-Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojana, o Registered as a Regional Blood Transfusion Centre with State Blood Transfusion Centre and o Managing two storage centre/s: Hira Mongi Navneet Hospital-Mulund & Lohana Mahajan, Khopoli. • Managing Thalassemia Centre since October 2008: o Adopted 140+ Thalassemia Major Children’s in 1st phase from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane & Raigad Dist., o Providing FREE OF COST Leuco-reduced components+transfusion+consumable under dedicated Doctor/Nurse/Counsellor/Attendant every 8-15 days which is otherwise costing Rs.10,000/- per child/month and o Helps for their medicines/diagnostic check-ups at subsidised rate, takes care of their social life to make more happier to possible extent by arranging picnics, functions like felicitation for their success in SSC/HSC Exams, birthday celebrations, get-togethers. • Majority of children are transferred from other hospitals/centres, out of which 44 were sero-reactive (39-HCV, 3-HIV & 2-HBV) to whom we closely monitored for not adding new sero-reactive. o Under the first innovative project in India for 13 HCV reactive children’s who needed immediate treatment under the supervision/support of experts and completed 24/48 week’s INTERFERON treatment costed Rs. Four lac/child including diagnosis & other expense resulted that they are now HCV negative for which majority of expenses were borne by our trust and some philanthropists. o Second such project was undertaken for another batch of children with same positive outcome. • Rotary Club of Mumbai Ghatkopar has donated Bus for Blood Donation o 1st in 2009 with five beds in Tata-912 bus costed Rs.25 lacs, collected 30,000 bags (made 75,000 components) from 1,000 camps in a span of eight years. o 2nd in 2018 with eight recliner chairs in Eicher bus costed Rs.35 lacs that has helped us a lot for smooth and regular conduct of camps in hygienic conditions and collected 24,124 bags (made 60,310 components) from 483 camps in 40 months & travelled 30,429 KM. Out of above, during lockdown, collected 10,345 bags from 246 camps, travelled 14,024 KM. o Blood collected, should be separated in 6-8 hours as per legal requirement and better quality. • Rotary Club also set up state of art Dialysis Centre with 28 machines. o At charitable TOKEN charges of Rs.50/- and we intend to cut down by involving/seeking support from likeminded organisations/individuals for continual help so to preferably offer to all free by getting registered and falling under MJPJAY and to run 24x7 by taking care of 450 patients staying in and around North East Suburb of Mumbai. • A Philanthropist from Ghatkopar, i.e. Shri.Botadra Parivar donated a Tempo Traveller-3700 o Minibus costed 20 lacs+ with 4 recliner chairs to penetrate in interiors for uninterrupted blood. Considering more than Rs. Two Crore Fifty Lacs+ expenses/huge shortfall per anum, appreciate wholehearted support from philanthropists, corporates, like-minded for monetary support for all above activities mentioned as we always believe that NOBODY CAN WORK IN ISOLATION.
