About This Cause
Concerns Universe Foundation is a registered Trust founded in 2001, that works with urban poor communities to empower, transform and elevate the lives of under-served children, youth, and women through education and vocational training initiatives. Our interventions span three key verticals - Skill Training, Early Child Care and Education and Community Development Initiatives. Our methods of Intervention: - To provide skill training to women and youth from underprivileged backgrounds. To provide training in basic English and computers. To offer trade courses such as Tailoring, Early Child Care and Education, Beauty therapy, Office management and Life-coping skills. Till date, our program has trained over 800+ students and 70% of our graduates have secured employment. - Keeping in mind the importance of a quality pre-school education in a child's overall development, our first Child Development Centre was started in 2001, and we currently operate four centres in different communities, supporting around 170 children annually. The aim is to provide access to early childhood education particularly for children from low-income families. Our centres provide early childhood education, regular health checks, nutritional well-being, and parental education. - To provide awareness programs and assistance with applying for Government benefits and schemes. To conduct routine health check-ups and improve the welfare and health of the communities we work with. The Concerns Foundation team mainly consists of members from the same communities that we work in, and they have been trained to implement the above-mentioned programs, leading to sustainable development. Annually about 3000 community members in 4 areas in East Bangalore benefit from Concerns Community Development Initiatives. We require support to ensure that our impact reaches many more beneficiaries through our programs and to achieve our vision of building a community where all can fulfil their educational, economic and social goals.
