Mission Statement
Serve Train Educate People’s Society-STEPS a non-profit organization founded in the year 1993 at Srikalahasti, India. STEPS provides free health services, awareness about communicable and non communicable diseases. Creates high impact community driven solutions in slums and rural areas. Whenever there are out burst of diseases, organizing health camps and awareness camps MISSION: STEPS mission is to provide better future to the most vulnerable people of those particularly deprived sections by protecting their health needs & rights, through education, environment and improving their living conditions with an integrated approach. VISION: The Vision of the society is to become centre of excellence in the field of Health, Women empowerment, Child development, Human rights and Environment related programs through innovations particularly for the marginalized by engaging into partnership with National and International agencies. GOALS: 1. Undertaking disease control programs. Organizing medical aid in rural & urban slums and implementing programs of Water & Sanitation, 2. Undertaking environmental pollution control programs 4. Organizing Self Help Groups (SHGs) in rural and urban slums to uplift poor community for their sustainable development. 5. Collaborating with other Institutions, Associations and Societies with similar goals in India

Serve Train Educate People’s Society (STEPS) established in the year 1993 as a non-profit organization at Srikalahasti, in Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh state, India. It is legally accredited with Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 of Govt of Andhra Pradesh. Registered under FCRA 1976 Ministry of Home Affairs, Tax Exemption under 12A & 80G of the Income Tax Department, Govt of India. STEPS NGO provides free health services, awareness about communicable and non communicable diseases. Gives emphasis on preventive & curative health programs for children, Adolescents, Women, aged people with emphasis on awareness & advocacy services. Health care, RCH Services to Slum people.STI, HIV care, awareness to Key populations. Prevention, Treatment, awareness, screening of Malaria, Filariasis, Cancer, Diabetes diseases and Vision care of people living in slums & villages. Area of Operation: Andhra Pradesh state, Chittoor and Nellore districts in India Organization Strengths: STEPS organization is formed on a strong spirit to change and improve the well-being of community members by enabling them to address their own problems. Having expertise which is relevant and will ensure achievement of the objectives of this project. Providing free health services to the people in Srikalahasti. Implementing activities for the improvement of Sexual & Reproductive health of Women and adolescents. STEPS NGO is in a unique position to demonstrate the importance of multiple challenges that currently prevent people living in slums and villages from fulfilling their health needs. Having strengths to implement programs effectively with 26 years of experience in managing projects, organizing Health camps, STI Clinics, Counseling, awareness camps, Advocacy camps, in Monitoring, Evaluation & Documentation and training Programs for communities. STEPS manage projects that are funded by government &International donors. Partnership development: STEPS NGO developed partnerships with number of international and National organizations .Developed partnership with 1, The Partnership For Maternal New Born & Child Health (WHO), 2. STOP TB Partnership (WHO). 3. White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Mother Hood 3. Global Health Council, 4. Women Deliver 5. Malaria Foundation International, USA, Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SUSANA). The organization currently implementing 1. STEPS Urban Health Centre: Providing Clinical services, creating awareness on issues related to health and family welfare, income generating programs for economic development of women & adolescent girls. 2. STEPS Targeted Intervention: Providing STI treatment, basic HIV care to FSWs, MSMs, PLHAs and awareness about STI, HIV/AIDS. 3. Lymphatic Filariasis Disease Treatment: Providing treatment, medicines to Filariasis patients with the support from donors from USA through Global giving. 4. Malaria Eradication Program: Organizing free Health camps in the malaria affected villages &slums. Creating awareness to keep their surroundings clean to prevent breeding of mosquitoes. 5. Diabetes Awareness camps: Organizing Diabetes prevention, awareness camps and screening camps in slums and the villages. 6. LEGAL Assistance and Counseling Cell for Women: organizing legal literacy camps in Srikalahasti and surrounding villages to provide legal assistance and knowledge to the women. Organization Achievements : STEPS NGO helps the neediest communities by improving their health condition by tackling problems they identify as important. Creates high impact community driven solutions for slums and rural areas. Organized 1645 Health camps for 512,665 people, 20662 Health awareness camps, Sessions & Trainings for 360878 people, a total of 873,543 beneficiaries.
