About This Cause
Sethu is a charitable trust started in 2005. We are registered with Darpan (NITI Aaayog) and Dept. of Social Welfare, Goa. We are registered with the Income Tax Dept under section 12A and 80G and have a permanent registration under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA). We are empanelled with Charity Aid Foundation (CAF), United Way and Daan Utsav. We are certified with Guidestar India Transparency Key. The ways we help We focus on developmental and behavioural well-being for children from birth till 19 years. There are three key ways we help 1. The Sethu Centre: This is the place where we do assessments and our therapy sessions with children and their families. We started from a 2-bedroom apartment and are now operate out of a small house in Porvorim, Goa. We’ve seen 11000 children since 2005. 2. AATISH: This is a dedicated place for children with Autism. Here we use a variety of programmes and techniques to help autistic children improve development and communication. 3. Inclusive education: We work with schools (from Balwadis to private schools) and communities to help children, parents, carers and teachers. We firmly believe that it takes a village to raise a child. A key benefit of our outreach programmes is the early identification of children needing intervention. 4 We reach out to children and families regardless of race, religion, gender, or socio-economic background. The intervention cost of children from weaker socio-economic backgrounds are borne by contributions of donors and benefactors. Our special programs are also only possible because of donor contributions. 5 Continual training of staff, parents, teachers and updating of all stakeholders in the community
