Mission Statement
The Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narainpur in the state of Chhattisgarh being one of the branch centre of The Ramakrishna Math & The Ramakrishna Mission Belur Math, Howrah, West Bengal completed its thirty-six years of service for the uplift of the local tribes on and around Narainpur district, and particularly for The Abujhmarhias, one of “A Primitive Tribe Groups” recently categorized as particularly “Vulnerable Tribe Group” of India.
About This Cause
Since its inception in the year 1985, Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Narainpur along with its six remote service centres inside the dense forest area of Abujhmarh has been rendering welfare services to the tribal brothers and sisters, the unprivileged children of our Motherland, who had been the mute victims of several centuries of oppression and utter neglect. Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Narainpur has brought more than two-thirds (nearly 300 villages among 337 villages) of the Abujhmarh area (4000 Sq. Km) under its major scheme of service which mainly aims at socio-economic uplift of the backward tribes of these areas by means of imparting education, health care, agriculture, employment generation and preservation of their rich culture. Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narainpur working in the field of Education, in the field of Agriculture, in the field of Health, in the field of Livelihood, and in the field of preservation of tribal culture and values. Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narainpur depicting a short statement of our humble efforts towards the amelioration of the miserable state into which a good many of our fellow brethren are living in this ‘Abujhmarh’. The Narainpur branch of Ramakrishna Mission is working primarily for the uplift of the indigenous hill Marias, a part of our rich heritage of the Primitive Tribal Population, by spreading modern education without spoiling their simplicity and basic ethos. The task is enormous but modest progress has been made with the help from The State Government and benevolent organizations and individuals. But the effort is inadequate, particularly due to poor connectivity of the places as well as the phenomenon of price escalation with time. We now earnestly appeal to all our friends, devotees, well-wishers, public and philanthropic institutions, and private & corporate business houses to participate in this noble venture and donate liberally for the sustenance of our efforts.
