About This Cause
Established in 1982, Development Alternatives (DA) is dedicated to bringing about a systemic balance among the basic prerequisites of sustainable development - social equity, environmental quality and economic efficiency. The Development Alternatives Group consists of the Society for Development Alternatives (DA), Society for Technology and Action for Rural Advancement (TARA) is a special purpose vehicle set up to accelerate micro-enterprise development and job creation in India. With the ability to work across local, subnational, national and global levels, DA designs conceptual and methodological solutions to the global challenges of poverty and environment, and applies these at the local level, through multi-stakeholder partnerships in a business-oriented approach. DA technologies, management systems, institutional structures and business models are designed for wide reach through highly scalable dissemination approaches and is flexible and adjustable for the projects needs.
