Mission Statement
CSI’s Mission is to empower the marginalised and vulnerable sections of the community by enhancing their knowledge, skills, capacities, access to social security schemes and programs and their participation in the decision making process. Child Survival India aims to act as a facilitator for people to achieve their optimal potential and to prepare them to face life's challenges with confidence and dignity.
About This Cause
CSI is a rights - based organisation working for the underprivileged women and children in the rural as well as urban communities. The organisation started its intervention in the year 1991 with focus on health of children in urban slums. However in due course, organisation took on an integrated community development approach with health, education & gender as its key focus areas. Started in Delhi in the year 1991 , Child Survival India now has its footprint in 2 union territories and 8 states of the country and reaches out every year to about 1 lakh people directly . We currently implement following initiatives : 1. Menstrual Health & Hygiene sessions in schools and Constructing menstrual Hygiene friendly school toilets 2. Mobile Medical vans for providing Primary health care services to villagers in remote rural areas 3. Day care centers for Children at Construction sites 4. After School "Learning Centers" for children of migrant workers 5. Health & Road Safety intervention for Truck Drivers 6. Legal literacy and support to survivors of Domestic violence 7. Care & Support to people living with HIV/AIDS 8. School Transformation projects including improvement of school WASH facilities , providing furnitures and fixtures for class room , play ground , establishment of library & IT lab etc.
