Mission Statement

To empower communities by creating multiple opportunities and platforms for visually impaired persons for their sustainable social upliftment. We believe in their potential to be significant contributors in India’s growth story.

About This Cause

Saksham Trust, founded in 2003 by Mr. Dipendra Manocha, a person with blindness himself, and Ms. Rummi K. Seth. The trust is dedicated to empowering individuals with visual impairment and low vision. Through inclusive education, assistive technology, accessible books, and cultural inclusion programs, we ensure bright futures for them. With centers in Delhi, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh, including a school in Noida for children with visual impairment and multiple disabilities, we strive to transform lives of persons with blindness. One of our initiatives focuses on over 300 visually challenged students in Delhi schools, providing them with access to the latest digital devices. These devices, such as Android tablets paired with Bluetooth keyboards, revolutionize their learning experience by enabling them to communicate and learn like their peers. Despite the availability of solutions like Laptops and tablets which are real enablers for persons with disabilities, they have not been widely adopted in the education of children with blindness. Your support can change this by providing essential digital devices and training to students and teachers. These devices will come preloaded with necessary apps and books, and connected to an online library, ensuring continuous access to educational resources. In today's ever-changing educational landscape, technology is indispensable for unlocking potential. Your support can be transformative, enabling these students to embark on a future filled with possibilities.
