Non-Judgmental Stance: While we do not encourage prostitution, we do not pass judgment on those engaged in it. We recognize that many individuals have been forced into this life, and our approach is rooted in empathy and understanding. Advocacy for Second-Generation Prevention: CMM actively supports initiatives aimed at preventing the second generation from entering the cycle of prostitution, acknowledging the intergenerational impact of this social issue. Rehabilitation with Dignity: We believe in rehabilitation but not through force. Our approach centers on empowering individuals to make informed choices for themselves and rebuild their lives with dignity. Focus on Victims, Not Culprits: Children, girls, and women in prostitution are seen as victims, not culprits. We advocate for holding those who exploit and coerce them accountable for their actions. OBJECTIVES : In pursuit of our mission, CMM sets the following objectives: Collaboration: We actively seek partnerships with like-minded institutions and individuals, both within India and globally, to amplify our impact and drive positive change. Unleashing Inner Potential: CMM aims to identify and harness the inherent potential within individuals, including children, youth, and women, to enable them to achieve their full capabilities. Knowledge Sharing: We embrace media and research as tools to share knowledge and experiences, fostering a culture of transparency and learning. Promoting Volunteering: CMM encourages volunteering, both on a national and international scale, to engage individuals in our mission and facilitate their personal growth. Health and Well-Being: We strive to empower our target group—children, youth, and women at risk—with knowledge and resources to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. This includes promoting sports, raising awareness, facilitating informed decision-making, and more. CMM's Focus Areas: Education and Awareness: CMM's primary focus is on children, youth, and women at risk, most of whom have been trafficked and forced into sex work. We provide vital information about AIDS and reproductive diseases, aim to prevent children from entering the sex trade, and offer educational support. Rehabilitation: For those willing to be rehabilitated, CMM provides support to rebuild their lives, emphasizing empowerment through institutional and community-based assistance, education, and training. Healthcare: We offer essential medical aid to address the healthcare needs of our target group. Child Welfare: CMM is dedicated to providing care, homes, and essential facilities to orphaned children, ensuring they have a nurturing environment to thrive. Community Building: We actively engage with sex workers and those affected by HIV/AIDS, promoting their participation in a robust network of support and empowerment. Economic Empowerment: CMM facilitates economic development through micro-credit and self-help concepts, offering individuals the means to achieve financial independence. Counseling and Support: CMM offers counseling services to address various situations and challenges faced by our beneficiaries, empowering them to navigate their lives with resilience and confidence. About This Cause
Chaithanya Mahila Mandali (CMM) is an organisation that stands at the forefront of transformative change, touching and impacting the lives of over 5,000 vulnerable and disadvantaged children, girls, and women who find themselves trapped in the harsh grip of forced sexual slavery each year. Our mission is rooted in empowerment, and we are committed to nurturing a brighter future for these individuals by offering support and guidance to break free from the shackles of their circumstances. At CMM, our dedication is unwavering. We actively encourage and empower vulnerable children, youth, and women, guiding them towards a path of self-improvement and personal growth. Our multifaceted approach encompasses a wide array of essential components: Education: We instill a passion for learning, fostering a deep-seated interest in education among those we serve. Skills Development: Equipping individuals with practical skills and vocational training is essential to help them become self-reliant and prepared for the challenges of the modern world. Reproductive Health and Rights: We empower them with knowledge about their reproductive health and rights, ensuring they have the agency to make informed decisions. Nutrition and Wellness: Addressing malnutrition and promoting a healthy diet is paramount to their overall well-being. Empowerment: We motivate and inspire them to stand up against the heinous crimes of human trafficking and sexual abuse, instilling within them the strength to advocate for their rights. De-Addiction: We extend support to those struggling with addiction, offering a path to recovery and a brighter future. HIV/AIDS: We actively engage with the complexities of HIV/AIDS, providing education, prevention, and support to affected individuals. CMM has achieved remarkable success in rehabilitating women who have endured forced sexual slavery. Many of them have joined our ranks, becoming an integral part of our team as they dedicate themselves to the cause of eradicating forced sexual slavery, human trafficking, and HIV/AIDS. A remarkable aspect of our journey is our Model Home, called "Chaithanya Mahila Mandali Rehab Centre, also called "Chaithanya Happy Home", where we provide sanctuary and care for parentless children and the offspring of women who have been forced into sexual slavery. Our mission is to intervene early, preventing these innocent souls from ever falling prey to the horrors of forced sexual slavery due to their helpless circumstances. We believe in the resilience of the human spirit and the potential for change, and we are committed to forging a brighter, more just future for all.
