Mission Statement

World Vision India is a humanitarian organisation working to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty and injustice. About This Cause

All development work World Vision India carries out is focused on building the capacity and ability of communities and families to ensure the wellbeing of children. The wellbeing of children includes ensuring children have access to education, health, protection and participation. World Vision's primary approach to poverty alleviation through transformational development is called 'area development programme' (ADP). Each ADP focuses on a geographical area and covers a population of 20,000 to 1,00,000 people. It is a long-term involvement of 12-15 years, rooted in the community and in partnership with the civil society, NGOs and the Government. World Vision India focus on the needs of children tackling child mortality rates, their health, and education. Providing access to water for drinking and agriculture, building food security and household resilience through income generation and access to credit, directly impacts the well being of children. Every community is also sensitised on aspects of environment, gender, persons with challenges, care for the vulnerable and peace building. The communities are involved in designing and implementing the long term programme.
