About This Cause
Concern India Foundation works towards ‘helping people help themselves’, by making the disadvantaged self-reliant and enabling them to lead a life of dignity. In the last 25 years we have strengthened and supported over 1000 NGO partners across the country. Currently, we support over 360 grassroots NGOs across India reaching out to nearly 1,50,000 marginalised people directly through our offices in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune. Our all-embracing approach ensures that through the programmes we support, we reach out to diverse target groups that include children, women, men, elderly, the disabled, and rural communities from the marginalised sections of the society . Our capacity building strengths in institution building, management support, monitoring and evaluation make our projects scalable and sustainable. What we do? Our experienced team uses its expertise to access a network of credible NGOs with an excellent ecosystem to deliver specific solutions. We strengthen organisations by helping them grow, support them by developing technical, administrative and financial systems. Identification, Monitoring and Evaluation are our key strengths. Concern India Foundation, is a trustworthy platform that enables companies to make informed decisions to fulfil their CSR mandates, thereby accomplishing specific, large-scale developmental goals that address community and stakeholders’ needs. We assess a company’s CSR strategy and mandates and provide access to a network of programmes across the country to help corporates select the ones most suited. We provide our donors a reliable means to donate their funds where they know it will be utilised to their maximum possible potential. We shape robust alliances between funding organisations and developmental projects by bridging the gap between NGOs, corporates and individuals who wish to support developmental work in the country, thus enabling the NGOs to concentrate on their core activities. We are committed in building socially conscious citizens, thus we organise several employee engagement programs for the corporate to give employees a chance to be aware of different social problems, be companions and contribute back to the society. We associate with several fundraising events and benefit from their proceeds. We also raise funds by participating in marathons and several corporate programmes such as Cause Related Marketing and Payroll Giving. Why Concern India Foundation? With 25 years of experience in the social sector, we have developed a process of identifying, monitoring and evaluating the programmes we support. Our monitoring and evaluating skills help us in the judicial disbursal of funds and tracking the work of the programmes. We have a two-tier monitoring and evaluation system conducted at the first level by the project personnel at the respective branch and at the next by the All India Projects team. Our projects team comprises of qualified social workers, all of whom have a Masters Degree in Social Work from a reputed institute. The process begins with Identification, where the appropriate assessment is carried out for programmes which fit into a predefined criteria. This involves the selection of NGOS that are committed to their cause but unable to raise sufficient funds, thorough reviews of all legal and account documents, conducting due diligence, reference and background checks, and a review of the plan of action. We work with the NGOs to determine the components they find hard to raise funds for, and that is where we ‘plug the gap’. Once the programme is selected, it moves in to the Monitoring phase where we work to ensure the judicious utilisation of disbursed funds and resources that are made available to them. This includes reviews of the project intervention at the community level, regular progress reports, financial and operational reviews, measuring, reporting and improving project efficiency, surprise field visits, focus groups, and more. The Evaluation process examines the impact made by each Concern India Foundation supported project. This entails a project support assessment, SWOT analysis, midterm and end-term evaluation. Our goal is to help the programmes achieve a level of sustainability that enables them to carry out the project activities after the grant period is over.
