About This Cause
Founded in 1983, we are one of the largest housing programmes in the Asia-Pacific region. We are affiliated to Habitat For Humanity International — a global non-government organisation now present in more than 70 countries. Habitat for Humanity India works with people of all backgrounds, races and religions across India to build houses in partnership with families in need. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with local, grassroots, non-government organizations, and micro finance institutions throughout India to provide decent housing. In the past 40 years, we have worked across India to help over 38 million people live in better conditions. Habitat India's National Office is in Mumbai with the implementing offices in Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore. Till date we have successfully completed over 33,982 projects across 26 states in India. Habitat India’s interventions include; Housing Support Services, Disaster Response (community based disaster preparedness and mitigation programs, Shelter, Emergency Shelter), Water and Sanitation, Livelihood intervention, Promotion of Sustainable and Environment friendly Energy solutions.
